I love how this song starts off like some typical Aerosmith dinosaur rock love song with the whole "baby baby" stuff and then Kurt screams and it just totally goes into Nirvana territory without missing a beat or sounding out of place with the first half. @seanimusprime98494 жыл бұрын
I think a lot of people miss this but this song being performed live here is a very special thing, because Spank thru was there since the very beginning and sort of caused everything as well. Songs like Teen Spirit, Blew and Lithium were made when the band was already sort of popular in some sort of way on top of being under the name Nirvana. However with Spank Thru, this was one of Kurt’s first ever songs he wrote that was on his fecal Matter album, which led Krist joining the band the begin with, which then led to Nirvanas official formation and so and so forth. My point is from Kurt playing this song to Krist in his room to get him to join his band to playing it live in front of a hundred thousand people just 7 years later must have been an emotional thing for Kurt and Krist. It’s like “wow man.... we actually made it”

Kurt Cobain didn't understand why he was so popular. he was shy and insecure, even though he was really talented and creative and good looking. he said he wanted to be famous. he worked hard to get there. when he finally realized just how famous he was, that he was never able to be comfortable with it. then he had his drug problem, depression and painful stomach problems on top of overwhelming fame. a lot of people probably don't understand how someone can reach the level of success and fame that he reached and just throw it all away like that, but then a lot of people don't understand that being famous doesn't mean your life is perfect or that you don't have other serious mental health problems going on. Nirvana were so cool. and Kurt Cobain was a great singer

Always!!! Brings back so many memories of Spank Thru live when I saw Nirvana back in my day! Many many years ago! So fortunate to have seen them. Listen to them ALL the time still. Never gets old. Only this burnout is getting older.
