Hey everyone! Be sure to palm mute the verses. Thank you for your requests with this song. I had a lot of fun learning and recording it. In this video, I wanted to highlight the song's intro. Kurt Cobain picks behind the bridge piece while hammering on with his left hand fingers. It's worth noting that the pitch of the strings in this area may vary depending on the instrument you choose to play this song on. Since Kurt's picking pattern in the original recording is not completely consistent, I've tabbed out the notes and tried to play them back exactly the same way he did. Unfortunately, there is no live footage available for reference, so I made educated guesses on the downstrokes and upstrokes. Feel free to pick a standard pattern from any of the measures and stick with it for the verses, choruses, etc. On a lighter note, I'd like to mention that this video is not actually sponsored by Pennyroyal tea, but hey, check out their website anyway! Now, I'd love to hear from you. What would be the next Nirvana song you'd like to see on this channel? Let me know in the comments below! 🎸 Keep rocking, and stay tuned for more awesome content! 🤘

It's funny that these nowadays "guitar players" that play a thousand notes per second usually talk bad shit about Kurt Cobain guitar skills, but still Kurt is one of the most influential and most criative guitar players of all time in Rock, the dude could pick a couple of notes and create great memorable riffs and even solos, that's in the end what makes a great guitar player, so yes, if you ask me Kurt was one of the most important guitar players of all time in music, period

I’m a guitar player who definitely over indulges in the shred style of playing but nirvana songs are some of my favorite to play and the band in general is top 5 for me if you want an artist who also could shred I would look into Jason Becker that man played at mac 10 but could still move one to tears

If he weren't murdered, I agree, yes. He was leaving the band anyways as his note told all of us. He wasn't leaving the planet.... his life was cut short by greedy psychopaths. His own best friend even. Sad and tragic. It put me and millions of others into a bad depression for 10 years or more. @Mr.Tabs.Guitar.Lessons10 ай бұрын
Musical notation doesn't tell you which position to play in. (On the piano each note is only found in one place. On the guitar there are some notes which are sound in several places). Only tab tells you exactly where on the neck to play. So I recommend tabs. But also, eventually it should be a goal to work out some songs by ear, or at least simple melodies anyway. In the meantime I'm happy to help!

Great guitar riffage in this song. Very cool behind the bridge picking part, I would have figured that was behind the *nut* picking. Guess where I picked that trick up? CC DeVille on "Strange Days of Uncle Jack" (first track on their "Flesh and Blood" album). I met him on that tour and asked him specifically about the intro part on that song, it's kind of a harp-like plucking sound but still sounds like a guitar is playing it. It's a technique you don't hear too often and once you know what it is you kind of never miss it when you do hear it. Makes sense you can also do it behind the bridge on an appropriate guitar like a Jazzmaster. You guys need to do more deep cuts like this - surprise us! Are you using that Aeroband midi guitar for bass and drums at this point? From your Super Mario video that thing looked pretty amazing for what you do here, looks like a cool piece of gear.
