Why does everyone complain about the shit music today? Do something. Record your music, play shows as loud as you possibly can. Record labels sign what is in demand, so when pop music dies, they look what comes next. Want to change music? Pick up a guitar and ride.

He's mumbling at least half of the lines, as he did often when he had written a melody but didn't have lyrics finished. Remember, lyrics always came last for Kurt, and just about every song we have early live versions of has a "mumbled" lyric. In other words, it's just syllables, no real words, don't read too much into someone's attempt at transcribing an incomplete work sourced from a low-quality audience recording.

honestly think he was talking about loving krist and courtney angrily saying, "fine fucking leave and tag along after your bf since he's more important to you than your own family but don't expect him to know how to love you like I do." also see: 'let's talk about someone else' in the album version. she loved to shit talk krist and dave; it's even in an article from '93. after kurt died she tried to smear that relationship by saying kurt was disbanding nirvana and was at odds with them over money. kurt confirms her accusations and suspicions about himself/krist in the lyric: 'you know you're right' nothing bothers courtney (self centered and only ever in love with herself) except for kurt leaving or being with someone else. it was a painfully toxic relationship.

Obviously the audio-quality is rough, but I gotta say I love the extended "noise guitar" section of the live version, at the end...unlike Kurt's usual "strangle guitar" thing, this one actually has a bit more of an 'atmospheric' sound to it, almost like shoegaze...

Something creepy about this, I'm not too sure What. That Atmospher this video gives off is huge the last moments one of the most legendary bands ever. It's hard to believe this concert even happened. It's just something about it seems so otherworldly almost. I know this wasn't their final concert but still it was somewhat close to the end. Not to mention the song was the last recorded song by Nirvana so it really is just like the ending of a story.

This song is so telling about his relationship with his wife. What I learned today is that he probably never healed an inner wounded child (due to his parents divorcing and also his dad's insensitivities) and his wife was (is) such an obvious super narcissist - she exploited their relationship and manipulated him to death - even if she didn't outright have him offed. This young man was feeling better - getting better ("things have never gone so well - I have never felt so swell" due to being able to call command his own ship following his success and also medication he finally found for his stomach disorder) yet he still felt massive PAIN in his relationship with his wife and from his past. Perhaps his "suicide note" was more of an apology to his fans for giving up the concert life and not wanting to be forced to regurgitate "Smells Like Teen Spirit" when that life was holding him back artistically, spiritually - you name it - everything except financially. And the money was what CLove was after - and she got it - didn't she - along with maybe a half an hour of "fame". She has a lyric in Hole, "you better watch out what you wish for..."

I cannot interpret "Things have never been so swell" literally.... It sounds like what someone says when everything is going terribly but they're covering it up. Not knocking your interpretation of things, just that one line - it's got to be ironic, how I read it anyway.

He's mumbling at least half of the lines (probably the majority of them, really), as he did often when he had written a melody but didn't have lyrics finished. Remember, lyrics always came last for Kurt, and just about every song we have early live versions of has a "mumbled" lyric. In other words, it's just syllables, no real words, don't read too much into someone's attempt at transcribing an incomplete work sourced from a low-quality audience recording.
