According to Pat Smear himself, Kurt wanted to do a Bowie cover and it was up to Pat to chose which one. So, Pat being the Bowie FREAK he is said "The man who sold the world." And having said that, look at Pat here, so enthusiastically playing that song and having the time of his life.

They were ok. Kurt had a great voice and this is a great cover. Saw them in Seattle when they supported Sonic Youth in 91 maybe . Good live, not great. Hugely over rated now of course. I was more stoked at The Ramones that year, or Nirvana's labelmate Tad at whatever that small club on first was called. Had to laugh at girls sitting down in the boys toilets next to the urinal thinking they were so tough. Probably getting covered in splashback pee. LOL

Wouldn’t go that far, in terms of stats and popularity you have to look at the Beatles and queen as the two best bands in the world to exist from my personal preference. Even though I don’t listen to either of those two bands they will probably go down as the best bands in the world (that is if something happens in the future)
