The door was never open and it never closed in this video. It is the black ladder on the back door that creates the illusion of a black gap and once the go pro is close enough to the van, the pixels render the black ladder back to a ladder, from a black looking gap. Notice how when the black gap is visible, the ladder is missing. Yet, the second the black gap disappears, the black ladder immediately is visible. This is not a matter of the mind wanting to see what it wants, but a matter of the pixel rendering trying to make out the lack of light on a black obgect, until it is close enough to render it. And we perceive it as the black space of an open door. Again, the ladder becomes an object as soon as the black space merges into it.

In the police cam footage Gaby stated she was OCD and gets ticked with just sandals bringing in dirt. Those are Brian’s by the looks of it because he has the black toe split vs. Gaby’s that has the white toe split. I think she was killed the evening of Aug 27 or morning Aug 28. This video footage is from around 6:30pm Aug 27 and does not show the black triangle sticker on the back of the van. This sticker shows up on the van in the photo from September. Also in this video, the sandals appear to be neatly placed outside and what looks like a book with maybe a flashlight on top of it. I think she was alive at that moment having a normal evening reading and adding a souvenir sticker to the van. He killed her later that night or early the next morning, probably during an argument. He hikes out to Colter Bay, showers, maybe makes a phone call, discards evidence and hitchhikes back to the van on Aug 29. Then drives back to Florida, arriving on Sept 1. As far as the door closing, when vehicles, especially a large RV, drive by on a dirt road, they kick up a lot of dust. The inclination would be to shut the door, especially if you like things to be neat and clean inside the van.

Just wanted to point out the speculation these sandals were Gabby's. They actually belong to Brian! Check out the police body can video of the traffic stop. Gabby had white tops on her sandals. Brian's sandals were a tarnish colour, like the soles. Slow down the police video, you can see them best when the officer is walking back up to the van after calling to see about getting him a motel room. When the officer walks around the back of the open van, Brian is on driver's side in the sunlight. You can see his sandals. That means it was him shutting the van door!

This is phenomenal!!! The door shutting - Brian's flip-flops left outside have me thinking this is the day or the day prior was her death. The 27th is a pivotal date. Texts were sent to Gabby's family on this date and not by Gabby. I think she was killed in the van and then carried over to be disposed on land. Gabby was passionate about her phone and she would have kept it by her side, not outside the van. This being recorded on the 27th shows Brian as I believe it was Brian - that is.

I find it makes the most sense that gabby was killed on the 27th as that restaurant confirmed that Brian and Gabby were there that day eating around 1 PM. Then Brian and Gabby were thrown out of the restaurant because they were fighting. Then her mother received that strange text from her phone about Stan. So I believe she was killed that evening. Her body is discovered roughly 500 to 600 feet from where the van is parked. Then Brian drove the van 2400 miles to Florida without her in it. It makes no sense that the two of them drove away from this specific area after this was filmed only to return at a later time to the exact same location. Perhaps he drove her body to this location to place it in that creek or the two of them walked to the creek together and the homicide occurred at that point in time.

My hunch is the body was there in the Van when that RV passed. He scouted the area and probably came back, was getting ready for it to get dark to dispose of her after finding a good spot. Look at the way it’s parked right near those trees to give him perfect cover.

I think you can actually see someone getting in the van as well just before the door closes. At 1:40 you can see the curvature of someone's back covering part of the left door, and then the black edge of the door opening becomes more vertical when the person disappears into the van.

I think the sandals / flip flops were placed there by someone.. Not necessarily by Gabby. I wear flip flops everyday I have a van I enter and exit it all the time and do not wear my flip flops or shoes in the back of the van ever... If you have a van and you wear flip flops or sandals or shoes you will relate to what I am about to say.... you don't step out of them that way... the only way that you will get your flip flops / sandals / shoes to sit like that is if you set them there by hand... and if you spend enough time in your van you will quickly learn that the best way and the most often used way of setting your flip flops / sandals or shoes outside the van is to reverse them when you sit them down so you can exit and step right into them and not have to step out pick them up and then put them on... My opinion, Brian set the sandals there ... and he waited till a car truck van came by and closed to the door to fool anyone into believing Gabby had just got into the van... I do not think that Gabby was in the van at all... that it was him... or a third party.. but not Gabby ! I guess we will find out when the full report is out.. if she did not have her sandals with her.. or did she.. when she was found. RIP Gabby..

No one thinks that far in advance. People react in the moment to whatever circumstances are presented to them. In this case, he heard a vehicle approaching, so he closed the door. It’s as simple as that. Perhaps he had just killed Gabby. Perhaps Brian and Gabby were both alive in the van. Perhaps it was a vagrant in the van. Either way: Brian could never have imagined that millions of people would be speculating about the position of some sandals outside the van. Never. In addition: Brian (and everyone else) knows that an RV driving by is not going to notice the position of some sandals. In fact, he knows that an RV passing by wouldn’t even see or notice sandals. Hey Brother: There is No Grand Plan on Brian’s Part: He closed the van door because he heard the van approaching. He didn’t have any plan about the sandals. He also didn’t plan to kill Gabby. Rather, he killed her in the middle of a fight. People don’t “PLAN” these things. Brian had a bad temper, and Gabby may have, too. They fought many times. This fight escalated to homicide. Afterward, he tried to cover it up. Most likely, when this RV is passing, Brian is in the midst of unimaginable panic and despair about what he had just done. In the middle of this panic and despair, he hears an RV approaching, so he instinctively closes the van door. He doesn’t think about the sandals or anything else. There is no Grand Plan.

If he had already killed Gabby, I guarantee that he regretted it immediately, and his mind was flooded with panic. I believe I’m correct in this case. Perhaps someday we’ll know for sure. Even if Brian is eventually found alive, how could they ever prove that he did it? Unless he confesses and tells the story, they cannot ever prove it. For Instance: We already know that sometimes he left her alone with the van: Sometime around August 16th, Brian flew home to Florida to help his dad move stuff, and returned to Gabby around August 23rd. Therefore, there is a history of Gabby being alone with the van. In other words, Brian could claim: “I left her on August 27th with the van because we were arguing and needed time apart. She was alive and well at that moment. I hiked and hitch-hiked from August 27th to August 29th. When I returned to the van on August 29th, she was gone and I couldn’t find her. I panicked and returned home.” That is the type of planning that you’re talking about, and I think that’s probably close to what he did. He’s eventually wanting people to believe that some random dude did this while he was gone. As far as the door closing and the sandals: No, I don’t believe that was part of any plan. But the hitch-hiking (I believe) was his way of creating an alibi. He wanted to create a “record” of being with others near the time of her death. I would also consider that the hitch-hiking might have been him panicking, and not knowing what to do. He may have hitch-hiked and realized he needed money and help. He probably also thought that her body would be discovered sooner, and that her family would report her missing sooner. There wouldn’t be any evidence of him doing it because his dna would be on her because they were a couple. Plus, both of their dna would be in the van because they lived there.

I think he may have called his parents and told them what happened.. and they told him to get home ASAP and they would figure out what to do.... I'd like to point out that from the Moab,Utah video when questioned what was the arguing about, part of what BL states is that he had some dirt on his feet and went into the van,which very likely upset her. Here in this footage only a single pair of sandals/flipflops is seen which begs the questions - Who closed the van and why only the one pair,which appear to have been hers ? Because the van door was open could it have been BL hearing the RV coming towards again,and closing the van door ? Or was it Gabby alone because perhaps BL was in the area elsewhere ? It may have been him,and closing the door to prevent anyone from either interfering and/or possibly discovering something at this particular time and wanting to avoid any contact. Or it could very well have been her,alone and simply closing the door for security,out there. This was August 27 roughly between 6-6:30 as stated from rwb. And that patch of wet sand is really confusing many who see it to be possibly something else. SMH. Autopsy is scheduled for today and hopefully will yield some solid evidence and clues as to the COD. Meanwhile,BL is still in the wind but I suspect he returned to see his parents for a final time and goodbye perhaps,unbeknownst to them. Two outcomes - Either he is captured once an arrest warrant is issued,or his body will be discovered. Or maybe even a third,that he did or will commit suicide in the gator-ridden swampy area of that FL sp and was or will be eaten by them. Time will tell. We're all watching and waiting. And I do think that they knew and know more than they are willing to share. When one knowingly defends or aids and abets the Guilty,then one is also complicit and guilty in the Guilt of whatever.
