I've been looking for someone to do the ungodly diffusion stack. It came out as awful as I expected. Love it! Thumbs up, subscribed

Top Tip, use a thin rubber band on your screw filter, save over tightening but keeps them secure!

Just bought NiSi 1/8 filter but… …am I the only one who can’t stack my ND filter (PolarPro PMVND ii) on it? Lens -> Mist works but I can’t stack the ND on top?

Have you tried testing K&F's Black Mist Filter? They said it's cheap but is also similar to Tiffen's.

I may be getting some of those soon for testing!

I have same sigma 18-35 and on lense i have VND filter. so Can I put MIST filter or cinebloom over my VND? And do I need rotate filters like I rotate VND depend on shoot? thx you
@paddington20632 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, no you don’t. There is no variation to any blooming filter, as basically a cloudy glass. In the old days and still today, photographers rub Vaseline over the lens for the same effect. You are quite literally putting a filter on. Only thing I’d suggest is putting the blooming filter on first

Helpful review except you didn’t really show any footage besides the band using the tiffen 1/4, especially in any of the side by sides which would have been super helpful

Nisi is the only one you can get in Europe lol, already own Tiffen and wanted to try out Cinebloom but shipping and taxes raised the price to double.... so now I'm testing out Nisi and it doesn't seem bad at all.

I bought the NiSi Black Mist 1/8th a few short while ago. Honestly, I think it's a good amount of diffusion. There weren't really any reviews on YT, but since I'd had good experience with their IRNDs, thought I'd take a chance. Nice to see there's now a review!

Eh. It looks like they blur everything, with Tiffen light sources bloom but the rest stays reasonably sharp.

I also like the Cinebloom 10% most of all the comparisons, although at this point in the future the price has jumped up to $100 for the 82mm.

Do these mist filters always have to be used with some sort of light source in the shot? I got the NiSi 1/8, and barely ever see any difference vs not using it. Am I not using it in the correct situations? The only time i see a difference is if i use it at night, and having street lights in the shot. But anything else i can't even tell I had it on.

Damn you didn't have the Tiffen BPM 1/4 comrared to Nisi 1/4, because I want to choose between two. Tiffen handles blacks better but in bloom I think they are equal, because Tiffen's 1/8 is weaker 1/2 is harder than Nisi's 1/4. So Tiffen's 1/4 may be equal with Nisi's. I've got Nisi's VND and its really perfect glass, no color change, no crossing. I think Nisi makes professional glasses, too.

I know you made this 2 years ago so curious about your experience:) !!! Did you notice that the nisi seemed to loose a lot less contrast in some back lit scenarios vs the tiffen variant. Basically looking for the bloom but less washed out image potential :) !!! Hope you week is well 💪

I just got Nisi 1/4 black mist filter and I noticed my photos looks very grainy even at iso 100. I dunno what went wrong. Is that normal?

What causes this halation effect on older 70s films. If you watch something like jaws, you can see an ultra soft smearing effect very often. Is this.due to the older lenses used?

A little WD40 on the thread before you attach it to the lens should help.
