This game was ahead of its time. Decent graphics, tough gameplay in higher difficulty, had the flag system, penalties, proper pit stops with stalling even, and safety car, which was a big one and was not there in any other future F1 games until 2011.

Great intro. Fairly unique in that it replicates actual incidents from the 1998 season (not 99 as it was still going on when the game was released).

I loved this game, what was great about it was that it had the safety car, I dont ever remember any other F1 game with this in. Lets hope F1'09 on PS3/Xbox etc by Codemasters will bring this feature back into the game.

Could even stall in the pistops - I'm with you it really was realistic ; games since then seem to have passed this by.What annoys my most is the AI cars going down the straights on half throttle ffs :(

It came out in October IIRC - but they managed to get the driver changes in there! (Salo replacing Schumacher after Silverstone etc)

well they wouldnt have had much '99 material to work with - as i remember this came out sort of half way thorough 99 so would have been in development throughout '98
