Great video ken! 2007 Nissan Altima: I have 0 experience with cars other than start it and go and I’ve done a few oil changes myself. I removed and “installed” the cabin air filter without taking off the glove compartment. Took about 5 minutes to rip it out (lol) then 10 minutes to fish back into the hole. The air flow arrow on the filter goes toward the rear of the car.

What the hell kind of sadistic nutcase engineer came up with that design? Why.. In the hell.. Would they put something, that you are supposed to commonly change.. In a location like that? Someone at Nissan needs to be horsewhipped.
@Backyardprojectguy6 жыл бұрын
Well said...I wish the Engineer who design this would be next to me while I change it..so I can ask..WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!! I feel they make it hard so we have to take it back to the dealership, and the can make more money..

I think that you have the air flow direction backwards. The original filter has the arrow pointed towards the rear of the car and the replacement filter I bought has the removal tab at the bottom and the only way to insert the filter and still have access to the removal tab is if the arrow is pointing towards the rear. I checked a few other instructional videos and they too said that the air flow arrow points to the rear.

The MAF sensor is under the hood between the engine air filter (not the same as the cabin air filter) and the engine. You could try purchasing some MAF sensor cleaner at your local auto parts store and cleaning the wires. You might also need to change the engine air filter.
