I have the older 24kWh acenta rapid plus, interesting that they don’t seem to have changed the interior at all on the new version. As an electrician with a fully loaded van, roof rack with pipe tube and ladders on top I get around 60-80 miles to a charge. (It’s hilly in and around Bacup where I work). If I am going to a couple of jobs in a day I will stop at a rapid if I need to and top up while I have lunch and do some paperwork/make calls. I will be considering the 40 kWh version at the end of the year as the size is ideal for me and the extra range will be good.

Thanks for the review, really like this van as it’s perfect for me. I’ve an ageing 11 year old caddy and I do very few miles a year as my work is all local. I’ve done just over 20000 miles in 8 years I’ve owned it with 43000 on the clock. The Nissan van is just perfect for my work.

Hi Ryan, I’m a volunteer with fareshare every week and they use diesel Mercedes sprinter refrigerator vans to deliver food to community centres, schools and charities. I deliver around Coventry and Nuneaton and do around 70-80 miles per trip. Fortunately the guy who looks after the van acquisition is a Zoe driver and is seriously looking at env200 replacement. It would be brilliant to use an electric van and take another diesel powered vehicle off the road. BTW I’m collecting my Kona from Just evs next Wednesday, can’t wait.
@EVOpinion5 жыл бұрын
Rob Heap what a fantastic service. I’m sure the people that benefit from your kindness really appreciate it 😁👍. Not only would it be good to replace the diesel vans because of the pollution but also the daily cost savings of driving them 😁👍

EV Opinion yes Ryan, I quite agree, lucky the guy in charge of the local fleet is an ev convert. Pity it’s only two vans as fareshare is a huge organisation. However, it’s a start. Keep up the good work with the videos, they’re brilliant. May see you at fully charged live perhaps? I’m there on the Friday.

i actually got mine from JustEVs. I think its a very under rated EV. ive 4 girls, so always out with clubs, camping, bikes, football. im just coming up on 10k miles and apart from services ive had 2 tyres and a battery in the key fob. my KWH is 2.8 and ive worked it out at about 122 miles per gallon of "Electric" Used to driving a camper at 55mph, done a 143 mile round trip for 1Pound 77 pence. follow lorries and ive actually watched the battery guessometer go up. ive loaded an twin cooker in it and extractor hood and delivered it with 2 passengers too. seats all fold up out the way. just cant rate it enough. and its only the 24kw battery..

Note, those features lifted from the Leaf are from the OLD Leaf that you're most familiar with, not the post-2018 models. Newer Leafs also have the buttons on the door handles. Bjorn said that it has battery air-cooling, but only while the air-con is on. Can you use the air-con button to enable the battery cooling using the remote button? Bjorn said you couldn't lock it while cooling, but that would appear to be inaccurate, given the key-fob remote start.

It needs a leaf e plus battery with active thermal management, particularly if it's going to be used as a delivery mobile because that means it's going to be hitting the rapid Chargers a lot more often that is healthy for a passively cooled battery.

Interesting review odd they didn't put in CCS2 for the European/UK/US instead of Chademo. Would've thought a bigger battery like 60kW would be more useful particularly for delivery drivers who may need to go a little farther on occasion and perhaps not need to charge all day.

All those measurements and you didn't say how long the floor is in the back. I'm considering a 40kWh version for a camper conversion by installing a rock 'n roll bench type seat. @captain pugwash Why would you want to cook using electricity whilst camping? That only happens in large campsites with electric hookup running microwave ovens in caravans and motorhomes. Can't figure out why people in those things don't just stay at home personally. A small one/two person basic campervan is ideal for exploring and doesn't need all the gadgets of home from home in my opinion. 100 mile range and a decent bed is all we would need.

mitchd616 Hi, today I have achieved 4.3 miles / kWh, although in the winter 3.5 is typical.

Thanks Martin, I'm hoping 4mls per KWh in summer, maybe 130/140mls range from 100% to 10% certainly 120mls between rapid charges 10 to 80%, is this realistic do you think? My daily local running will be less than 100 mls with a home charger so probably no regular rapid charging. Cheers
@mcroft12345 жыл бұрын
mitchd616 I regularly travel 80 - 100 miles a day so I don’t get to 10%. But your figures look good. Also I rarely go to public charges although I travelled in France and only went to 20%. My experience is there is no fixed distance, you’re total dependant on the terrain.
@EVOpinion5 жыл бұрын
Not so much mileage but from an efficiency point of view there are better. I think it’s due to the higher roof on the 200. It’s basically narrower and taller than other vans 👍
@mitchd6165 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I can't find a better van with the load capacity, the more efficient vans are smaller, no? It's funny but my current vw caddy maxi looks lower buts it's only 50mm lower and about the same width. I spent a lot of 2018 thinking about an electric van, hope i didn't make a mistake, it seemed the e-NV was the only choice for me. Excellent channel, keep up the good work!
@Lampman_uk5 жыл бұрын
You have missed the problem with the cooling system, it only works when you are charging not when driving, the ignition has to be on when rapid charging so you cannot leave the van, . With AC charging you can turn it off and the cooling will work. Why it doesn’t have a simple thermostat control linked to the battery temp beats me and many other env owners seems Nissan madness taken to a new level.
