These guys are full of Bull. I worked in a big stamping plant for almost 40 years. A 27-year-old press is like new. I have seen them 70 years old and still running like new. All the big auto manufacturers have big automated presses now. Nothing new!

Do you think the future of metal stamping industry is good? I'm a fresher and I would like to join this industry. I'm a mechanical graduate engineer.

You've got kids replacing body panels with unpainted carbon fiber parts to show off. If only they knew the infrastructure, tooling and engineering that went into creating their hoods and trunk lids.

Hi, I'm looking for mechanical(!) 100,000t up to 200,000t press processing machine and it's application (where such presses are used).
@SpiraSpiraSpira5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure that there are any presses that big. I think China has a 80,000t forging press. However, generally speaking die/forging presses of that hugeness could be used for aerospace applications (namely the wing spars and landing gear) of large aircraft, titanium bulkheads, any kind of very complex part where high strength and low weight are a concern. Giant extrusion presses are usually used for making things like I-beams, etc.

It's up to Nissan, who complains a no-deal threatens the plant, and demands compensation from UK in that event. The plant seems to be situated to serve Europe, producing only 3 small models in half-million total quantities.
