Nissan Frontier EASY CLUTCH SWITCH FIX

Fixed a very common issue with Nissans not starting due to clutch pedal switch problems. There are many ways to fix this simple problem, but I am confident this way is the best. It's also reversible if for some reason you needed to put the car back to oem.

Bro let me telllllllll you thank you thank you thankkkkk you for posting this whatever pad or device in place to push in the clutch button must have fallen off it had been glitchy for a while I never knew this existed I would have to push waaaay back to get it to start and today after my wife drove it I go to start and NOTHInG just nothing I checked fuses battery I screamed I yelled I moved the gears around I sweated I screamed some more I watched 15 other videos I did what they told me and now I watched this I pushed it in with my hand and turned the key ( I said GOD PLEAse let this work) and BAM it worked well it started right upppppppp it’s about 10pm I would have bought a new started I would have changed out the whole car not knowing it was ONE STUPID little thing like this anyone who has a MANUAL vehicle having the same isssssue do what this guy just shows you and pray as I did and it should work!!!!!! My '51 Studebaker had the starter button under the clutch pedal. After viewing this, I checked the switch and found that it was good, replaced the plug on the pedal with a clip from a new dress shirt, and it works great.

Some models actually have a clutch override button/switch right next to the mirror adjust button. But yeah the pedal switch is a simple +/- on/off. Jump the terminals with a paper clip or misc wire to bridge it to make a close circuit. Keep in mind that you can now start it while it's in gear without pushing the clutch pedal. Or you can simply take a quick wire connector clamp and crimp it on with pair of pliers just above where it plugs into the switch.

Thank you!!!! I was prepping my 99 Nissan Frontier to sell and while vacuuming I found a small bolt under the drivers side dash. Of course the next day, Truck wouldn't start. I would manually hold the button in with one hand and turn the key with the other. Now it is 'fixed'. Thank you!

Doooood. You saved me! I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out why my truck suddenly wouldn’t start. I noticed little pieces of crumbled plastic in the floorboard and turns out after I watched this video is was the clutch pedal switch pad. I ended up just putting a short nut and bolt in the hole and it works as a switch.

So glad I just stumbled on this vid/was almost ready to buy a new starter motor: My 02 Frontier 141k miles shows slightly diff design than on the vid (no hole but "something" had been taped there that no longer existed) but- viola- the real problem was the floor mat!!!!! Also caused grinding of the gears. Moved the mat abt 5 inches away from where the clutch pedal hits the floor. Advice: No floor mat material in area where clutch touches the floor.

Right on. I just had my 2016 with under 45k miles and they charged me $360 for a switch last week and today, less than a week after they replaced it, I had the same trouble when I got in the truck to head to work this morning. That dealership is #1 Cochran Nissan of West Hills, Pittsburgh, PA. When it was John Wright Nissan, they took care of their customers - this guy Cochran is a flat out thief. This isn't the first time I've had issues with these guys. I'm on a mission now.

Fire the genius who drills holes in that clutch lever plate. Without a hole filled with a crumbly plastic piece, nothing would fall out to prevent the little switch from being pressed. Nothing to go wrong ... unless the weld failed.

Just as you were describing what to do with the two wires putting them into the fuse module for the easy clutch fix sound goes out and without sounds I don't know what I'm supposed to do afterwards

No that’s it!!! Just put a wire into both holes of the switch you pulled from the button. Then the truck will start without pressing in the clutch. Just make sure it is in neutral.

He killed the sound intentionally for CYA reasons. This way if you do that fix, forget you did it, and run over your dog or drunk friend, then you can't turn around and sue him by saying that he "told" you how to do it.

On a subject of a different note I have an 04 Mazda 3 that had in under - fire in mid Transportation home the other night it's somewhat melted everything underneath is there a wiring diagram that's easy-to-follow to rewire everything under there or is it a manufacturer's default and if so can it be replaced for free

KZbin is great, except for the rats. My switch "button" and pedal grommets are worn down so I'll replace them in case I ever sell it. I had a 91 Integra back in 2001-03, one of my favorite cars. I really love the Frontier. Excellent value and utility; isn't shiny and won't quench the normies' great debt thirsts.

Lol it just allows you to start without pressing in the clutch. You still have to use the clutch to drive. I am very sorry that this hack doesn’t make your manual transmission an automatic 😆😁😁😁
