I have an 09 SV 4x4 with 31x10.5 duratracs. Just had a good 5 to 6 inches of wet snow and sleet in our area. Had to take my wife out and back to work. The truck and the tires performed very well in the fresh snow and hard packed snow/ice. Stopping and starting was easy as long as I didn't floor it. Very good stability in the corners. The rear did want to slide out just a little when starting while turning, but would quickly gain traction and away we go. Note that my tires are past half of their life. I'll definitely buy these again. They perform well in all the situations that I have put them through.

That’s what I like about these tires. Even worn out they handle real good like you said

I got a 19 P4X back in June, had just over 7k mile on it, new to me. I love it, the ratio to TRD’s on the road is cool too, you kind of stand out driving this thing. Solid videos too, it’s cool seeing what the truck can do 👍

Mine has 90,000 and it’s barely broken in. I would say anything under 30,000 miles is considered new. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a used frontier for sure if I had to do it all over again. I do see a lot of Toyota’s around but they are also very good. Thanks I’ve got more videos coming soon!!! Stay tuned!!

Loooks amazing in the snow, I took my Pro-4X up to college station, TX last month when it snowed about 4 inches and it was coming down good. The truck did amazing and that was on the stock ATM tires, frontier is a really good truck.
@desertdudechannel3 жыл бұрын
The truck does look sick in the snow! It handles the snow like a champ and fits in trails that bigger trucks won’t fit. I love the stock atm hankooks don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!!!! They ride so good and they are so light that the truck floats in sand dunes!

Great truck! I have a 2018 pro 4x same color.

What’s your favorite feature of the truck?
@joeyscalapini22853 жыл бұрын
My favorite feature is everything! The four wheel drive is excellent. I’ve had a crush on this truck for a long time and in 2018 I finally got one. Same color. I’ve got led lights on the entire truck, yellow fogs and matched the back factory tint windows on the front two and a k&n filter. My truck has yet to get stuck or have any issues. 39k miles and my truck has a better blue book than my boss’s 2018 all star z71. Love this truck!
@desertdudechannel3 жыл бұрын
Man that’s an awesome setup. LED lights are a massive improvement. I have 79,000 now and it just feels broken in. I always wanted to match the window tint too

Im on my second Nissan Frontier. Both are 4 door 4x4. Excellent in the snow and mud. Beast is a good word. The most underrated truck on the planet.

Im on my second one too. My first one is a king cab se4x4 2010 model in silver also. Love it and it still looks perfect. It is the most underrated and therefore fairly priced.

Up in the Northwest Territories and I've been rippin round in the snow with no traction issues for the last couple of months and I have the exact setup as you with lower psi (35psi). They're amazing tires for our trucks and I'll be sure to pick up another set when mine eventually wear out!
@desertdudechannel3 жыл бұрын
35 is a much smoother ride for sure. I might drop the pressure down and see how bad my mpg gets. Love the tires in the snow today!! So grippy!

I'm from eastern Ontario we get decent amount of snow as a matter a fact we just got 25cms last night I'm running a 2inch lift still on stock tires which are the dynapro and honestly haven't had any issue in the snow but there are getting less grip with the wear that's on them I'm about to replace them go up to the 285 75 16 to complete my lift but I was thinking I'll get the bfs or the Falcon wild peaks which have great reviews
@desertdudechannel3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. I have also heard great things about the wild peaks!
@JohnnyRebLa11 ай бұрын
Whoa, i hope you aren't running 50lbs. That's a bit much.
@desertdudechannel11 ай бұрын
I ran 50psi until I wore those tires out. Now I run 35-45 psi with my new ultra terrains.

What tires are they?
@desertdudechannel3 жыл бұрын
Goodyear wrangler Duratrac stock size!
@markdeweerdt60543 жыл бұрын
What size tires ? Do you have a lift?
@desertdudechannel3 жыл бұрын
Stock size man but they seem to run a little big. No lift needed. The truck is perfect in stock form unless you’re going for looks then maybe a 2 inch lift
@cameron3393 жыл бұрын
50 psi? The sticker on the door sill says 35 psi I believe. Do these require extra air?
@desertdudechannel3 жыл бұрын
The tire says 80psi cold air pressure. I tried it for a few weeks but the tpms light on the dashboard starts flashing “over inflation” after you get to 65psi or above. 35psi is recommended for the safety of the ride probably so you don’t bounce and lose control on the road without weight in the bed. 50psi requires extra attention on roadways because the back end kicks around.

@@desertdudechannel Debating between Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac and BF Goodrich KO2. Which do you think is better? Are the Goodyears more expensive?
@dannyg56363 жыл бұрын
@@cameron339 I've looked into both I know when I priced them the bfgs were literally 5dollars more a tire then the duratreks. As far as I understand the bfs are better at almost everything except in the snow but there very comparable tire overall
@desertdudechannel3 жыл бұрын
Get the one you’d regret not buying. That’s how you choose which to get. I might suggest the k02. I had them too. They are more popular. I still want to test more tires to see which handle better. I might try the cooper at3 next.
@BadBeerBreath3 жыл бұрын
How are they for road noise compared to the Dynapro's? I'm probably looking at new tires for next winter. I don't mind the stocks at all, I think they have decent traction in snow/off road and they're relatively quiet. I'd like a good mix of quiet and good traction, so might just go straight back to the Hankooks.
@desertdudechannel3 жыл бұрын
The road nose is pretty horrible. I’m not satisfied with that at all. Would not recommend these tires unless you’re doing 60% or more of off-road. I would keep the hankooks. I had 2 sets. No issues except nail punctures from new construction zones. They are much quieter and way better mpg.
