A new 2013 GT-R here in the United States cost around $96-106,000 In japan it is a good deal less The "Pure" base model is 8,757,000.00 JPY = 86,451.32 USD. The premium edition is 9,786,000.00 JPY = 96,609.87 USD with the Black edition coming in a tiny bit below that. The top of the line Egoist edition comes in at 15,168,300.00 JPY = 149,745.30USD Now in terms of used you can get a 2009 GT-R here in the states for around $60-68,000 about ¥6,482,816 I would assume the actual price to be lower.

I drove my GTR R35 in 20cm of snow here in Brussels, Belgium last weekend. Most other cars got stuck, Front wheel drive, Rear wheel drive, even BMW X5, Audi Q etc had big trouble driving. I asked the police officer if I could drive around them on the highway on-ramp ... he looked at the car with ??? on his face. Then told me to be careful, so ... of I went passing 50 cars!! LOL On the 100% covered highway I continued (with 2 passengers) at the legal 120Kph speed limit. No worries!! GREAT CAR!!
gtr is the type of car that you can drive whatever the occasion. It's great because it's looks are beautiful but unassuming. And nothing's wrong with that.
I own a 2009 ( Japan 2008 ) GT-R. Finest car on the planet. However, November 2012 I drove out of Eugene, Oregon and decided to chance going over the mountain range to Idaho instead of going to the west coast of California and then North/East to Idaho... to avoid snow season. As I ascended up and over the simple mountain I noticed my dash instruments said I am in 32 degree weather. I slowed down to 3 mph or less and as I came over the crest of the mountain road I began to loose all control and went backwards down the grade and hit the side of the frozen embankment and that is where I ended up. zero steering. By the grace of God someone pushed me out of the deep rut because of the design of the bottom of car and I limped down the mountain at less than 1 mph. My GT-R was not working for me in the SNOW mode. I must not have known how to engage the snow mode, as I believe the GT-R should have driven better in these conditions. BLACK ICE. Who can navigate through it ?? Maybe the 09' does not have he premium midship package!!? Otherwise, it's more than its advertised to be. Buy one. What tires were you on? If you lose control on black ice and don't know how to control the situation, honestly, it wouldn't matter if you were in a Range Rover.

The braking test, the Z clearly won if you count the cones. Makes sense because it's the lightest and braking on snow is only a test of tires.

Well, if you were on a black ice, and if you have regular snow tires with no studs, it does not matter if you happen to be driving a lunar module you will loose traction. I would have liked to see a comparison between the similar 4WD models, but they did a good job of showcasing GT-R. They are trying to push this car as working man's super car but at around 100,000, Subaru STI or similar would be more for the average Joe.
Japanese are the best car builder in the world. GT-R is no. 1

My Sentra SE-R Spec-V is incredible in the snow. I drove my car on the ice race track at our local club and could easily navigate the course with precise slip angle control and minimal effort (WITH VDC OFF!).
It allows doctors to actually get to hospitals in thick snow. And fast. It's completely justified.
