I am sure it also reduces the number of times your rope is run over, but I hadn't even thought about insurance.

My thoughts on that....the owner got it stuck. Why trust them not to rear end the tow vehicle, run over the rope and damage the front driveline, turns the wheels wrong and get stuck even worse. Hes a trained tow driver, his staff is used to do what he says. Ive pulled many people out and when the driver in the other vehicle doesnt listen to what you tell them and thinks they know what to do is actually worse. Best to let a tow driver in training get behind the wheel instead of the possibly arrogant driver that got it stuck to begin with....i said possibly.

@@swampthingzr2ify Bit over dramatic. I'd have thought it was simply more about communication. People you work with know what you mean when you give instructions which means it's basically quicker. Sure there is a risk another driver might do something stupid, but usually you can get a sense of the person based on their attitude when talking to them. I expect that is part of why Matt is so mellow. He doesn't want to antagonise a person who may be frustrated from sitting with their car for a long period of time who is knackered from trying to get their car out. Some of the older people there may simply not have the strength to turn a wheel if the engine is not running.

As a Jeep XJ owner/wheeler for the last 20 years, these videos are some of the coolest ones I've seen. Over hundreds of wheeling trips, I have broken stuff, rolled jeeps, and learned a lot, and my cheap beaters never let me down. My current $800 Cherokee has been doing the thing for me for over a decade, and still handles daily driver use like a champ. With lockers and 33's, I can stick it in 4lo and pretty much go anywhere I have the cojones to try.

Ok things ive learned from Matt for blow sand. 1. Air down. Probably around 20 to 15 psi. 2. Carry a air compressor to air up. 3. Mud tires. 4. Always carry a credit card and matts phone number.

Yep, could have driven out no problem since he was pointed downhill !! Keep your momentum and do not stop on an incline in the sand. Plus airing down the tires ofcourse. Knowledge goes a lot further than horsepower.. I think Matt's channel has proven that!

Ok Mat, i bought your rope, i live in Corpus Christi where Padre Island National Seashore is located. Its 60 miles of beach down to the Mansfield Channel, cant cross, so its 60 miles back along the beach, there are NO services or roads, its all beach soft sand, good fishing, 4x4 ONLY, no way off and no way do tow trucks go down the beach, so recovery is left to the individual. I have been looking for a recovery rope for just in case i get stuck or have to yank others out of the sand or water. I have been watching your channel for years and glad to buy a rope you have tested as i have watched you do, so i feel good about buying a rope i have watched you use. Thank you for the great content and development of a great rope, look forward to it arriving in the mail.
