Great fun watching you drive around Norway. We did "Norway in a Nutshell" 2yrs ago, bus from Bergen, Voss, Gudvangen, ferry to Flam, train to Oslo. Fantastic, never forget it. 5E for coffee at Flam, unforgettable too (paradise is expensive). Nice to see Model 3 in Flam?! Be safe (and warm) out there. Thanks again.

11:00 Heat pumps need to defrost every so often when sub-zero with humidity - maybe just going through the defrost cycle then resume after? Heat pump should be able to extract energy from the air down to -30C
@fintrollpgr3 жыл бұрын
Efficieny is just crap at those temperatures. The residential one I have works until -25, but it just does not produce much heat anymore under -10.. The LEAF cuts out the heat pump at around -14-15. And don't forget you also have windchill on top of the temperature in a car when moving.

WTF LEAF Rapidgating in cold winter climate 😲
@matthewlibanio82273 жыл бұрын
When did it rapidgate? It charged at near full speeds everytime. 42C is warm but still at it's threshold. Barely. Leaf is still a commendable car for it's price. And I still maintain incredibly reliable too. Even Bjorn likes it. It's just a great all around car.
@kanaljenskanal3 жыл бұрын
Jenny Nguyen point taken. On the brink of rapidgating 😉
@kjer60713 жыл бұрын
@@matthewlibanio8227 Would that kind of heat affect the longevity of the battery pack?
@matthewlibanio82273 жыл бұрын
@@kjer6071 It all depends. Heat is okay but it's all dependant on the chemistry. Nissan claims their new chemistry can handle it. They learned a lot from 2011-2012 packs and have been refining their chemistry. So far newer leaf packs appear to hold up well enough. But even liquid cooled packs degrade... My Model 3 has 8.1% degradation after 3 years. So it's all dependant on how many times you fast charge and a little less about when the battery gets hot. Agreed Leaf isn't a great hot climate car for fast charging like Mexico or South Africa, but for most European, US Canadian and other areas where temps vary, it's a fine Machine.
