I recently bought a new 62 Kwh Tekna. I love it. I went for the Leaf because of its track record and reliability. It's nice to see a positive review. There tends to be a 'let's knock the Leaf' attitude from the 'professional' KZbin reviewers. All real owners are the opposite and give glowing accounts of the Leaf. I've had most makes of cars in my life and I can say without doubt this is one of the best.

Encouraging for me to hear that after 70+k mileage your battery is still good. I say that because I've decided when I change my car in the next couple of years I'm going to go electric. But like many people, the cost is a huge issue for me, so I'll be looking second hand - and with that, I was worried about the state of the battery. I suppose it's best to get as low a mileage as you can? Anyway, I think I've decided on the Leaf as the long term reviews are all excellent....although I really like the Dacia Spring, but the budget is not gonna stretch that far
@NevoEVReviewIreland3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment A Darbs. I'll get LEAF owner Blake back on here to answer you question but can I ask where are you based?
@adarbs63843 жыл бұрын
@@NevoEVReviewIreland excellent thanks. Based near Ennis. As I say though I won't be changing the car for a year or 2 - if I could change now I definitely would as I'm desperate to go electric, but funding and job-wise right now is not a good time
@NevoEVReviewIreland3 жыл бұрын
Understood. Also, looks like we're not going to get the Dacia Spring in Ireland or the UK unfortunately
@adarbs63843 жыл бұрын
@@NevoEVReviewIreland really?? That's a real shame, I think it could have really shaken the manufacturer's up with their pricing. For me personally, I don't care about all the bells and whistles tech-wise, I just want a decent enough range, decent charge time, and much cheaper 😂
@evlifeireland82023 жыл бұрын
Hi Darbs. Pity about us not getting the Dacia! Getting the LEAF was definitely one of the best financial decisions I've made! It was a lot of money upfront but the savings since have been huge! As for getting a low mileage EV, I personally wouldn't be too bothered by getting a four or five year old car that had up to 100,000km or so as I know i'd get years more out of it. Of course, you can get LEAF SPY to check on the health of the battery before you buy. You could also consider going for something new if you're in a position to get the finance (Renault ZOE?). For some people, they save so much on fuel and maintenance that it makes up a large part of the cost difference. Last thing i'd say to you is to get involved in the EV groups, or even call one of the 2nd EV specialists to see if there's a means you haven't thought of yet. Best of luck with your EV journey! Blake.

@@NevoEVReviewIreland Im currently driving a Hyundai Ioniq 28kwh bev after recently trading in my bmw i3 94 ah Rex. Find the Ioniq bev much more comfortable to drive on motorways, more space, and lot of extra features i didnt have in my bmw i3 like adaptive Cruise Control, LCAS and faster charging which makes it ideal for longer trips around Ireland.

@@itsfahys I've heard great things about the Ioniq. Roughly what sort of extra range are you getting out of it compared to the 24 LEAF?

My leaf looks exactly like yours, I love it, best car I've ever had. Personally I prefer the looks of the earlier car, looks original instead of genetic. The Techna is really high spec and well worth the extra money. I'm keeping mine till the wheels fall off...

I think the efficiency was just over 10kWh/100km. It was exceptional circumstances...Nice weather, not much luggage in car and just before I replaced the front tyres. Most driving was on 60km/h roads. Also, I was in Turtle Mode for a while, and wouldn't have risked that distance unless very close to my house!

I prefer the old one, too... and guess what I have?... a 2016 red 30kWh! It's an Acenta, though, so no leather, heated seats or led headlights for me, unfortunately. The old is going to become the VW Beetle of electric cars.
