What problems await you after buying a used Nissan Note I (E11 2004-2013)

Some of these have had problems with a leak into the boot/rear footwells. On mine it was the piece of bodywork between the rear brake light and the bumper. They are just push-fit clips holding it on with very small gaskets. One of my clips was missing as well so it was basically a hole in the body letting water in. There is also a white square plastic clip which holds the bumper on either side, these are also push-fit essentially but one of the clips has a screw in it. I've sealed all these clips/holes with black silicone and so far it seems to have worked ok. If water is getting into the car this way, then the water will run along the floor-sill behind the rear internal wheel arches, and then run down under the rear seat and into the footwell I think. The rear wash nozzel, and the two clips each side for the decorative part of the rear brake light on the roof, and the radio aerial, the rear tail light, all have push-fit/gasket problems so they can be sealed as well. A leak from the rear wash nozzle will commonly run down the inside of the rear screen. I use white spirit and kitchen towel to clean the repair area first and to tidy up the sealant as I go, to try and do a neat job.

Outstanding car ok every car has faults keep on top of them servicing etc diesel cars are very economical and comfortable I’ve had lots of cars high performance the lot in younger years but as you realise reliability economy and safety is most important it’s only my way of thinking depends on your lifestyle obviously take care people love to all

A constant problem with my 2008 petrol automatic Note is upon acceleration between 20 to 80 kph begins coughing and sputtering of engine. Two Nissan dealerships have changed modules, EGR valve, checked fuel injectors after cleaning and as I asked checked catalytic converter but without any results. One dealership threw up their hands and basically said so sorry so sad....we give up! I have noticed one thing with the service engine light still always on however, that after a computer diagnostic the light goes out temporarily until I try to pass and pick up speed quickly then it comes back on and the coughing and sputtering returns worse. Light stays on again till another diagnostic is done only to repeat this process all over again. It does seem to run better after the diagnostic and the service light is off. Any help from viewers here would be greatly appreciated as these computer mechanics seem to not have enough experience to diagnose the problem if the computer doesn't explain it to them.

This video is so misleading. Facts used are way off. He is talking about faults on cars with over 200000km. Only model to avoid is the automatic versions. Most people think the 1.4 is the engine to get.
