I'm dreaming of a van build and I like the idea of a small van having the swivel on the seats, or both of them. With the seat swiveled it can give room for sleeping. I'd have a pretty full van but I think I could make it work. I think using storage netting is a great idea, and I'd be willing to put in board / solid insulation, seal with tape between pieces and that's it. Some things need to be bolted so I'd have a couple frame boards along the van frame where needed. I get that some people want walls and a homey look but I'm cool without. That's a pretty good electrical system compared to others I've seen. I'd consider running a laptop and possibly Starlink, also which uses 1k wh daily. Being far out beyond cell networks sometimes but still having a connection with satellite would be nice although expensive. I have a virtual phone number in Google and could just receive calls on that in the boonies.

I also built a Drifta style fold out table with the hole and use a hiking pole as well. Consider looping the fabric loop through the top and use a stick/pen under as a toggle. Awesome build!

Very nice. Was wondering why you need such a large microwave but since it's hard to cook in such a small space heating frozen foods it probably your best choice. I'm glad you have an angled light board in front as the wind resistance (and wind noise) might be a factor with such a high solar mount.

Love the pull out drawer then fold over table. I feel that's pretty smart as it's an instant table and easy to do rather than a drawer slide table within a slide out drawer that I was thinking. I would like to know more about that ladder though. I end up buying a 8' reach step stool but it does take up some space.

Great build! Love the massive solar setup and the tracks on roof. Please tell us how you did that. Its clever to leave a gap between solar panel and roof top as it creates a cool air flow and shades the roof well from heat. Also keeps the solar panels cool while being in the sun, which prolongs their life. I need to do this with my van as well. I would really appreciate some build tips. What metal racks? How is it attached to roof? Nicely done! A very functional layout for bed and kitchen. Smart! It gives you space inside as well. The large TV is a must in any mancave, heh heh heh! So is the sliding kitchen - for tailgate parties! The Nissan is a lovely van but small, and you really made it work, bravo! I'd love to know exact brand of lift up table hinges/ supports on Amazon. Hard to find reliable ones. I am surprised you don't have a fan on roof, you should get a Maxxair fan. It will increase airflow and prevent moisture buildup inside and prolong your insulation and build out. Maxxair is the best brand. Before you install it, see a Humble Road video on it. It has a small glitch that needs to be fixed, if they have not fixed it already. But it is the best fan out there. If you ever need heat, you can get a small diesel heater from Amazon for $200. Efficient and tiny and comes with its own flat small diesel tank. No moisture produced during operation, unlike propane heating which creates massive condensation inside your van. 12:57 - I would add a dust cover on that wiring panel with just the red kill switch sticking out. The dust in the desert is heavy, not to mention moisture. Don't leave that exposed to the elements. Do not eat those Cliff bars!!! I used to think they were good for my workouts, but in fact, they are candy bars and will make you very unhealthy and fat. Fresh veggies, different protein sources, no grain, no sugar, very low carbs - not refined only non-wheat heavy fiber types. Avoid all high fructose corn syrup, avoid vegetable and seed oils. Use nut oils like walnut, olive, avocado instead for great health. Watch Dr Eric Berg on his handy nutritional videos. This is the age to start good food habits. Eat fresh food, not canned stuff and easy on high sugar fruits as well. Cut out all carbs and sugars. Switch to Monkfruit instead of sugar - tastes and looks exactly like sugar but does not affect your glycemic index - all natural too. Health is the only thing that matters in life. fyi - Be aware there are too many 'ums' in your speech which make it hard to listen to. Now that you are making videos, you may want to take some Toastmaster's sessions (free) to practice speaking well. Its the art of having polished speech, as important as audio and visual clarity. Good tour, many thanks!

Thanks a lot! I do have a maxxfan up there you Mustve missed it. Its underneath the rack. I apologize this video is definitely hard to listen to! Lol. The rack was constructed entirely out of Unistrut. I can go into more detail for you through txt fivezeroeightninesevenonetwofourzerozero

@@camnavan965 Thanks a lot for your info! Unistrut would be much cheaper than 80/20 aluminum struts. I absolutely love that roof rack! Its going to cool down the van a lot, with permanent shade, while also keeping solar panels cool with airflow beneath. I bought the flex solar panels and was thinking of mounting them on a rack with lexan coroplast under each one to stiffen it. This mounted on a frame would be ideal as long as the wind does not lift them off. Wind force is very strong and that was my concern. I also need to be able to take them off periodically if my rubber EPDM roof (Class C) needs cleaning or maintenance. My roof is slightly domed side to side. I'll text you, and very much appreciate your advice.

it's a pretty cool build! good job one thing I would drop is the tv. it's obnoxiously big for that small car. if it's raining I guess a tablet/laptop would do. and in case the weather is fine - what the heck would you be doing sitting inside a car anyways ?? ;)

Excellent build. Very well thoiught out and integrated. Good solution for as much solar that you have positioned yourself to be able to have. May I be bold enough to ask you how much you figure you have spent on this total rig... Ball park? I'm trying to compare such a build to a factory build. Of course, the factory builds do not offer the 'Personal" fit styles that each individual might want, so being able to realize what a personal build costs compared to a factory buid, offers some insight on what individual style might be worth doing. Thanks for filming and sharing your van build ideas with us. Safe travels to ya. I'll be checking out the rest of your channel.
@camnavan965

Yes, electrical was about 1500$ and the rest of the build was about 1500$. Plus or minus 3000$ plus the price of the vehicle was 25,000$. I built this back in dec. Of 2020. With inflation considered it should be about the same except the price of the vehicle.
