This is classic Nissan. They fight tooth and nail to refuse to acknowledge issues that should be a recall now days. I use to be a total Nissan fan boy but ever since I got my 2010 Altima sr it’s had 3 verified known issues including this one ☝️ and Nissans “will work with individual customers” is crap! That’s their way of saying there’s no problem nope none at all customer, must be your fault pay for the expensive repairs yourself when it’s our bad design! Same as they way they handle the defective cvt transmissions! They know they’re defective but refuse to pay for replacements to this day even though every transmission shop has said it’s a defective transmission
@sc26035 жыл бұрын
Nissan is not recalling it because they don't give a shit my wife's 2014 Altima has had three transmissions a fuel pump both airbag lights are stuck on brakes it also shuts off at random and they say it's not available for a buyback it has 70,000 miles on it. I just google "my Nissan 2018 Pathfinder's engine stopped while driving it and I had to coast to a stop", and found this link on KZbin. After coming to a stop on the side of the road, I tried several times to re-start my vehicle. After several attempts, I thought that I was going to have to call for a tow, and on the last attempt, it started, and I drove home. I checked, and there were no warning lights or signals on my dashboard after this happened. Ah, and this isn't just a problem that happens when it's hot, it just happened to me, and it's early February, Winter in Colorado! I immediately called my local Nissan dealer and made an appointment to have it looked at. I have ALWAYS run premium fuel through my vehicle (getting it either at Costco or Shell), so, the gas is NOT the problem! Has anyone else actually found out what they exact problem is? If so, please post. I'll post another message after my local dealership takes a look at it, this coming Monday morning ...
@praying57012 жыл бұрын
This is the second time it happened to me. On the freeway. The first time I put a fuel pump in. I don't know why it happened this time. I use shell gas or sometimes marathon. It also wouldn't start one day and it was the brake sensor under the dashboard. I disconnected it and put it back together and it started. There was never a warning signal. The only warning signals I see are seatbelt. Door open or key not near the car.

Everyone needs to drive a car without power steering or power brakes so they know what it's like when they lose their power!
@Tracert-mc1hu3 жыл бұрын
Driving a car with no power steering and a car without functioning power steering are two very different things. I drove an old pickup with a manual steering rack, and it was not that hard to turn the wheel, but with a hydraulic steering rack, you're also moving all the hydraulic fluid around and pushing it through the pump, hoses, etc. Power brakes are a similar thing, since you're working against the vacuum or electric booster. I can't see someone who is not in shape being able to steer a car without the engine running at low speeds, or being able to brake beyond the 2 or so applications you get with residual vacuum.

I can handle it cutting out, I just have to stay in lane #1 so I can pull over quickly and not have to wrestle with stiff steering and brakes for too long. Will try some fixes soon. @@Venomsamurai7 I replaced all motor sensors a year ago. Plus I replaced plugs and wires. It drove better for a few days but I was still getting 3 or 4 fault codes. In a nutshell, after a year I replaced the input/output sensors on transmission. My 04/05 vehicle has these close together on the driver's wheel well area so you have to jack it up safely and remove wheel and then plastic shroud/guard. eBay generic part #: 5S4974 or Nissan 31935-8E006. Both are cheap from ebay. So far no jolting harsh shifts and no codes at all, some of them were for catalytic performance! Also some were for circuits not functioning (not the sensor, the circuit was faulty which is always worrying) Most recent codes were P0725, P0420, P0335, P0605. All gone for now. [the original codes from a year ago were P1800, P0420, P0345 - this lead to all those $10-15 sensors being replaced such as camshaft sensors etc]

Was it still related to gas pressure issues becoming vapor prior to the injector? It's a 16 year old car 2 years ago.. it could have been a myriad of issues I'm not sure if you can link that with the same newer cars that have CVT transmissions and different ecus altogether. But it would still be interesting to know. I personally think it's because there's no egr valve or gas check valve anywhere post the fuel pump in the entirety of the fuel system, which is causing the issues of losing fuel pressure. Maybe it's a non issue in Japan. But in America it's really a design flaw that could pose a very dangerous threat

@charleshines61554 жыл бұрын
My mother had a 2010 Jeep Patriot with a 2.4 and a CVT. It had stalling issues too. I remember once while I was driving it home I could feel it wanting to stall. It usually stalled while sitting at a red light. Sometimes it would even be a little difficult to get it started again. Like a lot of Nissans, it too had a Jatco CVT transmission in it. It was a nice small vehicle yet big enough for a lot of things but I never once felt safe in that deathtrap once it started to stall. One time the CVT failed under and thankfully it was still under warranty. I have mixed feelings about CVTs. Sure they are smooth running and feel quick but they are known for having reliability issues. I wonder if more frequent fluid changes would help. The thing with a lot of transmissions is the ridiculous claim of "lifetime" fluid. That couldn't be further from the truth, not one fluid is good for a lifetime or even a really long time. Even water becomes stagnant and contaminated over time. It reminds me of the GM deathtraps that had faulty ignition switches that caused many deaths and accidents. I certainly feel that the stalling or any vehicle stalling would be a similar safety hazard to the driver and all people near that vehicle.

I got ripped off on an 07 maxima. It ran good the day I took it for a test drive but the next day after I paid it struggled to turn on a few times and it stalled while driving. I've read that the ignition switch is a possible culprit. Not sure though. Any one ever figure it out?

Could be a fuel pump that’s overheating and shutting its self off witch would stall the engine.

Actually the steering wheel becomes super heavy. And the brakes will brake like 03 or 04 pumps and get lost

@@moab3788 Yeah, people try to say that you can steer and brake, but I doubt they've tried to steer a car that has non functioning power steering or brakes.

Thanks that's tell me they want to control how many request for reprogram and how much they will charge and if they find something (they program intentionally for me to go buy another vehicle) send more money for the labor and another vehicle and upgrade. Control how many people come in and this was done 4 years ago.

For the record, anyone who says "never buy a Nissan", "Nissan vehicles are junk", "Never again Nissan", blah.... blah.... blah.... You're just ignorant. #1 Every automotive manufacturer today (including Toyota) offers up the same level of poor design, over-engineering, and unreliability in their vehicles. In fact, Toyota has just as many TSBs and Safety Recalls as Nissan. All modern vehicles are junk, so there's no point in waving a finger at any one company. #2 I've been driving a 95 Nissan Pathfinder (M/T) into the ground every day for the past 11 years. I drove a 94 Nissan Pathfinder (M/T) 10 years before that. In that 21 years I've purchased a battery, a set of accessory belts, two head light bulbs, and regular oil changes. I''ll bet my bank account against my Pathfinder out-living any one of these 2019 shit-wagons. In conclusion, be smart and remember to include the "MODERN" keyword when bashing today's computer-aided transportation appliances :) www.edmunds.com/recalls/toyota.html

I have A 2009 Nissan Murano SL and it is doing the same thing I replace the battery with a brand new battery replaced the wire from the alternator to the battery every the crank and oxygen sensors it's still doing going into limp mode completely dying while I am driving without any warning , Matter of fact the problem is even worse now I can't even leave the radio on while the engine is off it drains the battery even within minutes leaving me stranded at the gas pump ,,, Serious issues with these vehicles and something needs to be done before life's or lost... Nissan vehicles are not safe and need to be discontinued and destroyed ..... I had no idea Nissan made coffins.

People have been mislead to think you can't buy a bad new car today, and this is verifiably false. They're not the death traps of a few decades ago but there are real some duds out there. I'd much rather get a really good 10 year old car than a brand-new piece of junk if price is an issue for ya
