GOOSEBUMPS!!!!!😱 In march I nearly bought a half decent 2.8 GU patrol. Only issue I had was my height, 6ft 5 and the fact I couldn't squeeze 2 kids seat and an adult in the back 😭😭😭😭 I was heartbroken for weeks. But the sound even with stock exhaust is just pure filth.

Hey mate, Its fantastic - Haven't had an issues yet. I am currently getting 750km to around 85L of diesel. So in american thats about 440miles to 22 odd gallons, so works out around 20 miles per gallon?

How have you found the power? I'm really keen on picking up a 2.8 as my first 4bie (Would go for a 4.2 but dont have the almost extra 10k) Do you reckon it could be fixed with a chip and tune? What about the gearing offroad, is it very capable at low speed? Also wondering what you average in terms of fuel L/100kms?

Extremely capable offroad, and the gearing was perfect. Averaged roughly 650km whilst on 35s driving around town to the 70L tank. I didn't bother with a chip and tune, found it to be unnecessary, its a tank of a vehicle, it still got to 100 and still overtook vehicles on the highway, just need to be more conscious about it.

Completely legal my mums running the same exhaust system on her GQ with 33's and the spooling of the turbo is stock it's probably just got more air pulling through it since its straight piped(I may be wrong) he did say in a comment tho that it did over boost alot.

hey mate, how does the boost t work i understand it wounds the boost up but what about fuel do you have to touch that at all?

The GU have a 'self adjusting' fuel pump so can't be wound out without doing it eletronically, but even though its self adjusting it only goes so far, eventually you will need to get it tuned to up the fuel to match. My EGTs peak around 300 so have plenty of room for more fuel.

Hey there, Its a 2.5ton brick with a small engine, its not a race car and shouldn't be treated as one. Offroad I have kept up and gone further than friends in TD42's. I am running 35s, once you hit low range you barely notice the difference.

Turbos don't need any "back pressure" or for that matter any engine. People run 253 V8's on engine dynos with 4 inch open extractors and they make more power and torque than in a car with mufflers and a full system.

Look, It isn't a race car, but offroad & onroad it has the power to get everything done that I need. Aslong as you understand its a heavy 4x4 with big tires and drive accordingly, its fine.

If you can go the 4.2TD I would highly suggest going for it if you're able to pay the extra. Otherwise the RD28 does exactly what you need it to do, and once equipped will go everywhere the 4.2 does for a fraction of the cost. And in my opinion, sounds better while doing it.
