The MoT is the success, so great news for such an oldie. As for your dodgy type pump and all the rest, hey ho!

Well done on the MoT pass. Recycle your footpump (along with the green thing of course). I find plug-in tyre inflators to be a pain (not that I had a socket on my old car) better is a good manual footpump and additional accurate tyre gauge. I know how you feel with things not working. Other day on checking and pumping up my neighbour's tyres, last tyre pumped up I checked pressure and second to be certain check - the valve split. The joy of sorting the boot, the trays and tool holder over the spare wheel, then to find my trolley jack leaking fluid in use (cheap rubber seals used in manufacture?) to finish at 10pm on a cold night. When things start to go wrong Sod's Law always applies. 😄

Oh dear! Sorry you've had trouble. Nice of you to help your neighbour, though. I agree that it's important to have an accurate gauge. I don't rely on the digital gauge in my pump. I have a manual gauge and its margin of error is only 2%. I appreciate the value of a manual foot pump. I'm tempted to buy a cordless battery one, though. It would help with car tyres, camping mattresses, bikes, toys, etc. This one, perhaps: shop.ringautomotive.com/rtc4000-cordless-rechargeable-tyre-inflator.html?gad=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw7c2pBhAZEiwA88pOF5SIapexzhvwSH2MmwV7Cqc5cqceuaOx0fqsjlPYiGIY-AZWIs_w1BoC4o8QAvD_BwE

Good job, I remember when I did work experience at Kwik Fit, all those years ago. One of the workers flicked exhaust putty in my eye.... ouch
