Nissan Pulsar 1.2 dig-t Engine Problem Update

My Pulsar had an uneven idle and had a knocking sound coming from within the engine. Brought the car to the dealer and it turned out to be a faulty Variable Valve Timing Switch.

What was the knocking noise I see your point something in the video what was it that was actually changed it was making the knocking and tapping noise to start with

was your engine misfiring before the solenoid was replaced? mine runs like a bag of shite between 2000 and 3000rpm

Did you have engine fault indicator ON? How was the shaking actually?

I changed the cam shaft position sensor (engine side) and the rattle has nearly gone.

They're probably lying to you mate. Yeah they may have changed a phaser, but they rely on oil pressure to operate. So I would still be looking to oil issues.

Wow... that engine sounds bad. If i was to buy a used car and heard that kind of rattle and tapping, i would run away
