Vandaag de gasveren binnengekregen en net even gemonteerd. Dankzij jouw video wist ik meteen waar ik op moest letten en was ik in een kwartiertje klaar. Inclusief de 5 minuten hengelen, omdat mijn steeksleutel onder in de motorruimte was gevallen 😂.

Great idea! But I would avoid piggy backing on the battery, since the battery is often disconnected during maintenance. A battery operated light would work as well, and battery driven LED's usually last a long time anyway. :)

Hi Robert, thanks! Well indeed some prefer battery lights, as for the trunk lightening for instance. There are LEDs the clip in place but can be used as a torch. However, my experience is that bad luck rarely comes alone. So whenever I need to be under the bonnet I don’t want to depend on a battery… I have those battery operated LED ropes in my house and the battery lifetime is hopeless. 😞 and you are right that during maintenance the probably will disconnect the battery but in the workshop the have good lights (I hope 😂). This is litterally for me, on the go. 😉

Ah ah, j'avais mis ces lampes dans le coffre arrière c'est top et au moins tu vois clair la nuit, ça change des bouses fournies d'origine... Sinon bonne idée pour le compartiment moteur 👍🏻

Hi There...I'm wanting to put Gas Struts in the bonnet on my 2007 Qashquai but I'm struggling to find a kit, even on Ebay. Can you help with what length of the struts you used, bracket size etc. I live in the UK and wondered where might be the best place to purchase a kit from. Many thanks in advance. Cliff

Just ask the seller, they know. Or precise the model and year in your research on AliE. Many kits are sold there and in the reviews sometime people post post-install photos so you can compare.

Hello do you have the struts fitted to your j11b? I’ve just received mine for my 2018 model and I noticed on the instructions it’s for up to the 2016 model, and the brackets look completely different, just wondered if you have fitted them to your new Qashqai the brackets are different to this one. I didn’t find the info I was looking for on the link. It just mentions that it has 1 inch length. As for the trusting part, I meant I don’t trust it will arrive after I pay for it, not the quality of the item itself. But thanks for the encouragement, I’ll risk it and buy it from them.

@mihaimodan8457 do not worrie my friend. If it does not arrive you get 100% money back. AliExpress is very keen on protecting its customers. I’m not sure if the info you want is written in the struts itself. If needed I can take a look later. For the size. Hard to measure how it is closed. Don’t want to get trapped under the bonnet. 😂

If II get you right........: Video by 2:26: Your Information about "Compress the struts manually before installation" is totally wrong! Strut Bars or Hydraulic Lifter are hydraulic parts which are under high pressure. So it's impossible to squeeze them before installing them. I dit it by pushing the hood a lil bit up and install the stut bars. That's the easiest way for 1 person :)

Hi Michael, it is very hard but feasible though 😉 you can do it straight away on the car but you should be very careful then to press on the side of the bonnet and not simply pull on the front. That is the main thing to remember because otherwise the struts may resist to heavily and you and up pulling a fold in your bonnet 😉
