You ever get a clicking noise on your GTR? Every wheel rotation I get a click. Someone mentioned to remove the rotor and clean up any rust on the high-hat and then use brake lubricant on the mounting surface.
@JDArcher3 жыл бұрын
I've not gotten any clicking noises the sugesstions don't sound like bad advice. You could also have a small rock or something in your rotor. Could be a bad bushing. Or maybe an issue with the bearing, but I doubt it's the bearing

You don’t need anti rattle clips for the fronts..only needed for ZR1 394mm rotors so that’s why SBD only supply them with the rears
@JDArcher2 жыл бұрын
No you need them, see my video on how to get rid of the front end rattle. That pin rattles without them
@chelseamad662 жыл бұрын
@@JDArcher oh ok, I asked Chris why he only supplies them with rear kits and not the fronts and that’s what he told me..will take your advice and get a set for the front 👍
@JDArcher2 жыл бұрын
@@chelseamad66 well, it also depends on the year of your car. The 2015 and up have both clips stock

@@chelseamad66 then you'll definitely need a set. If you find my video on getting rid of the front end rattle I found a spot that sells them for cheap

Fast forward 2 years-are you happy with these SBD rotors and pads?

Rotors yes... Pads, no. I should have picked up Endless MX72+

Great content, after watching your video l looked at mine from Speed By Design and the shop that installed put the rears on backwards. Wonder if l should leave how they are or reverse them? I have about 1k miles on them.
@JDArcher3 жыл бұрын
I'd swap them over. Its actually easy because you don't need to swap over the hats. Just move the whole floating rotor from one side to the other. The reason the vanes face the way they do is to cool them down
@JDArcher3 жыл бұрын
Also by changing the direction of the slots to forward facing they'll grip better

@@darrenthomas5541 hopefully FBO and some interior carbon fiber wrap. However those plans may become difficult with the new laws that were released by the EPA.

@@JDArcher l had the plastic part of the my door handles wrapped in carbon fiber vinyl, came out nicely. Also ordered a carbon fiber console from Alibaba for $200 shipped. Who in their right mind puts spacers on a GTR??? Same guy that smashed the front end all up and cracked the bumper paint . I feel you buddy. Lol sorry
@JDArcher2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. A lot of people put spacers on the wheels to flush the wheels with the body. I personally don't care fir that since I'd rather use the proper off sets. The thing is when you buy a used car you never know what the previous owners did. Both MKIV Supra's I've owned had some jenky stuff done to them. I even found duct tape holding things together...on both of them
