Just got back from a good vacation trip in ours. 38 mpg average was our result over 2000 mile trip. Very comfortable I'm 6ft 2 in and was comply. Just what we experianced

@Dietrich'sCarChannel, great job of explaining Turbo lag, etc...I like the part about powerband...as a kid, I raced 2-stroke dirt bikes and we all know about the powerband a surge of power! I have a Nissan Altima, I like it but I might trade it in for a Nissan Rogue SV, The Altima is excellent, but its really low getting in and out of the vehicle!

You've been reviewing all the crossovers I've been considering lately! Question for you (especially as a tall person) which do you prefer between the Mazda CX-5 (non-turbo), VW Taos and the Nissan Rogue? Fun to drive is secondary to commuting needs (comfortable seats/legroom, quietness). Driving dynamics are important, but comfort for my 6' 3" frame is more important.

I drove a Toas last year and enjoyed it, of those three the CX-5 is probably my favorite BUT I say that because I found it to be the most fun to drive. For comfort the seats in the Nissan really are nice, but I think the Mazda and VW felt more refined to me. All three cars have their pros and cons, and my needs/tastes may differ from yours, but I would rank the CX-5 first, the Toas second and the Rogue third. But all three are good cars that are worth a look, and as always YMMV.

Im a Nissan guy with a 2019 rouge.i was looking at the 23 Rouge but i don't trust a 3cyl. Turbo..the engine is too new i will wait 3 or 4 years....cx5 with a 2.5 Sounds like a proven option to me. Im going Toyota

@@keithadams812 I checked the CX-5 out. Very nice interior, but the large center console was right up against my knee and even though its padded I know it would bug me (one of my pet peeves). I also tried a RAV4 and was underwhelmed at how cheap looking the interior was. The seat cushion was short as well which doesn't work with long legs and the console was hard plastic and right against my knee. The VW Taos was perfect. Most comfortable seats and the driving position was great. Lots of legroom and headroom and my right knee wasn't touching the console. Only thing that worries me is VW's reputation for poor reliability. Other than that one would be in my garage right now. It may still end up there, I just have to think this over! lol

I recently traded in my 2001 CX-5 for a 2023 Rogue SVPremium and i have to say Rogue has better tech, more comfortable seats and nicer ride. CX-5 more sporty drive and possibly more high-end interior, but is getting long in the tooth and behind Rogue in tech.

@@Atreides217 I haven't tried a Rogue yet. I'm still shopping and a week ago I tried the Mazda CX-5 and VW Taos. The CX-5 was a bit tight for me. I don't like when my knee rests on the center console. It didn't in the Taos, but I'm kind of leery of VW's reliability reputation.

I traded a 2021 hyundai santa fe for a 2023 rogue Sv, what I miss the most is the space and technology but if you feel the low quality of the Rogué when I want to compare seriously, something that has me frustrated is that the driver's door is so light that it never closes completely and I want to take it to the dealer to see if it is a factory problem. Audio is also fatal on the Rogué sounds like cheap radio

as long as my iPhone doesn't hijack the xm radio when they're both on..as it does in the new CRV! I think that's part of the wireless CarPlay feature on CRV that won't be an issue with the wired version on the Rouge!

I rented one of these. The engine does vibrate slightly at idle. Would be a perfect candidate for a mild hybrid. I couldn't figure out how to put the car in neutral with that funny shifter. The rear hatch didn't lock when I locked the car. It had to be locked separately using a button on the hatch. Don't know if that can be changed in the settings or not, but that was annoying.

The Platinum has semi-anilin leather seats, the SV is either Cloth or Leatherette

My guess, and this is conjecture here, is that the Toyota turbo engines will turn out to be more reliable because they are less complicated than the VC Turbo engines

@@CarDietrich my friend who is mechanic told me higher fuel efficiency means low engine pressure which results in more reliability. Is he right?

Edmonds said in their tests they got 9.2 for the rogue 2.5 and and almost eight with the turbo 1.5 that's definitely a difference add 15 to 20% better gas mileage so I think you're full of crap
