So i just traded for a Toyota.. i believe they are going in the right direction with the new 25 Mirano with a 9-speed transmission.

I said this 15 years ago, they put CVT in their cars when CVT was the industry cheap way out. I stop looking at vehicles, the Maxima was one of the most popular car and I love my 90s maxima with a true transmission, once they drop that CVT in, combine with ugly outdated package..it was only a matter of time. OK, unfortunately I hate to hear this. I own a Nissan Titan, but mine is a 2017 and at the time I bought mine I had 100,000 mile warranty on my vehicle in 2018. They dropped it to 50 K and every time I go to the dealer ship Nissan I have to remind them. I have a 2017. Make sure that it’s not still under warranty. Not to mention the fact that I just replaced the starter in my truck that they know is a known issue in this year model that at best 70 to 80 K mileage you’re gonna have to replace it, but they have no explanation as to why it wears the teeth down in the module that you have to replace not to mention the fact that it’s hard to get the part unless it’s an aftermarket part. I don’t know about the rest of y’all. I didn’t pay the high dollar premium price that I did for my Titan with all the extras on it to end up with aftermarket product back into my Nissan Titan no, I want a Nissan product Now my next grip here is the way we compare China EV to US EV! Have you ever been overseas besides to Germany to like China or Korea? These folks don’t travel thousands of miles like we in the US do so their EV’s are a heck of a lot more economical Than what the US is heck I live in Texas and the nearest big town to me is three hours away one way I said the nearest. The nearest big international airport is five hours away. Why do I want to buy an EV that halfway through my trip? I’m gonna have to stop and plug in someplace in order to get where I’m going Went on a tank of gas. I can just about drive it. If we’re gonna compare what Americans spend an EV what foreign country spend on EV’s compare the mileage is that they drive on an average basis to go do things how close are they first off second off Been to Korea if you don’t have a small car do you know how funny they look at us as Americans when we come over and we got our big US SUVs because they don’t go or fit on their roads let alone in their little parking places because they don’t have the space for those big vehicles so stop comparing us to foreign countries, I know you were not doing it personally, but the consumer reports are compare apples to apples, then put out your reports!

You can swap out Nissan with most car brands that have alienated their customer base, have subpar reliability, and are overpriced. I blame the top brass for most auto manufacturers for being so out of touch in their ivory towers making $20-50 million dollars a year, and not catering to their bread and butter, small affordable vehicles that people and families can afford. They are trying to appease their stock market earnings calls to meet or beat wall street expectations for profit, and they have literally priced themselves out of the market. The day of reckoning is here for these auto manufacturers.

Unfortunately, I don’t know if Nissan can turn it around! Even at my dealership, they talk about the struggles of the new models that are sitting on their lots that the 2024s have had some major issues and then it’s compounded by the fact that they can’t get parts in to repair them And their fear is the 2025 is not gonna be any differently! So what I see is that the dealership is taking on another new logo and I eventually see the Nissan one going away! As far as their new EV, it’s a really nice looking car But the dealership says don’t buy it. It has battery issues so they’ve had a hard time moving their EV’s off the lot! I think that if any dealership that is selling EV’s wants us to buy them then the manufacturer is gonna have to get better at the quality of batteries that go into those cars not to mention it should not cost us two car payments to fix those issues nor should it cost us six months worth of car payments for you to get it fixed . Those are my thoughts. Have a good day.

Heres what happened folks, Nissan in 90s and into mid 2000s was less expensive than a Honda / Toyota and got you 95% of the reliability of those brands. Then in mid 2000s it went off the rails. They introduced CVTs into vehicles with strong v6 engines, what could go wrong right? Then more recent they decided to not only double down on CVTs in most of their vehicles, and then introduce an overcomplicated turbo 3 cylinder with variable compression into their bread and butter Rogue. What could go wrong? No longer are they the budget brand that is nearly as reliable as Honda/Toyota. I will say the new pathfinder having a regular transmission was a step in the right direction but too little too late most likely. I will also say their trucks are reliable as well , the frontier is the only thing in the lineup left where you can say its 95% as reliable as a toyota for less money.
