Nissan Stagea 260RS Build and Parts Overview

Took delivery of my 260RS 4/11/23. I leak tested it when I got back home to VA and found a boost leak where the ITB’s meet up with the block. It appears this is a common issue where the paper gasket will fail near cylinder 2 on RB26’s.
I figured I’d take the car down for a few weeks (copium) and restore and upgrade the car in the process of fixing the boost leak.
I like to use the buy once, cry once approach to purchasing items. Expect to see brands like NISMO, PRP, HKS, remade_in_usa_ , Nitto, etc going on this car.
My inspiration and vision is influenced by Andrew Hawkins at Motive Garage in Australia, Josh (‪@JDMRightHandDrive‬ on KZbin) who is documenting his R32’s restoration and modification as well as Blake (‪@BuiltByBlake‬ on KZbin) who is documenting his own 260RS’ journey in the land down under (Australia)
This will be a completely informal video process and is my first foray into something akin to this. Expect to see little of me and a lot of timelapse.

Great video! My wife and I are in the process of bringing a 260RS to the US as well- any recommendations on where to read up on maintenance, parts to replace, etc? We have a few sources we are studying up on, but would love to learn more!

Hey! Thanks for the comment. I learned everything from those that came before me. Check out jdmrighthanddrive, builtbyblake and motive video’s KZbin channels for all things GTR and RB26. Outside of that, download a copy of the R33 service manual and don’t push the stock turbos past 1 bar (14psi) unless you want the ceramic turbines to go boom

I used SCW Performance down in Carrollton, TX. They found the car for me, negotiated a good price with the dealer in Japan, then brought the car over to the US, titled it in Texas and then sold it to me. Their fee was about $1200 which I think is super cheap for the amount of work they did on my behalf.

What part of VA are you in? Im in Hampton roads and seen there is a 260rs running around. I have 2 stageas headed over early next year from Japan. They are both 99's/ The one im keeping has a 260rs body kit.

ya it would be, mine should arrive like late March then I start the build. Doing power adders, nothing crazy shooting for 400ish whp. Then body and paint. I'll have it ready for car show season next year.
