2009 Nissan Cube won't start. Key fob works on doors. Engine won't start. ESCL failed, common problem with Nissan. Recall was initiated and resolved and it failed again. Here is how to solve the problem permanently.

Thankyou for sharing this info. I paid Nissan over $2,000.00 to fix my 2009 Cube. They told me if it happened again (wouldn't start in extreme cold) I'd have to replace the transmission! I knew then & thanks to your video & a few other peoples' videos, it's NOT the transmission! So, when Nissan recalled all those vehicles in 2011, obviously they didn't "fix" the issue since it's still happening.

Found a workaround until you can fix it for good somewhere in a convenient place: 1.Unlock the fixation of the steering wheel height (there us a switch under the wheel) 2. Give the UNLOCKED wheel some serious, but not destroying ups and downs by hitting each edge. So the internal part which stopped to move accordingly get loose again. 3. For me the lock/unlock sounds way more fluent again now. Sounds almost like on day 1, when i got the car with 10.000 kms

Man! Thank you so much for showing this! I am in the middle of my 2 year travels through Europe and thought i might have to stop now and this gives me hope to fix it without loosing too much money. Sounds almost like on day 1, when i got the car with 10.000 kms I was recognizing the change of the unlock/lock sound during the last months as it sounded not very agile anymore and I always thought, that this is maybe related to my battery. Now we know, that this internal switch probably just needs some oil actually. Clearly a poor construction from Nissan. Thanks again mate!!

I have a 2009 Cube Krom that just died in parking lot just not starting after being in a store for 15 minutes. Only warning light is the red car with key. Just had car towed 70 miles home thinking it was the alternator and we can replace that at home. Once home we found out the battery is fully charged so its not the alternator or battery. We think it is this issue. Thanks for this video.
