THANK YOU SO MUCH! This comparison video has saved many like myself from agonizing hours of more testing and trials… thank you for mentioning the translucent dye, I only bought cast n’ craft dyes but I discovered Alumilite at Hobby lobby, they just didn’t have white 😖 I’ve just been getting into resin wave art and my first is already a fail. I got cast n craft, but I definitely didn’t get the foamy cells, I got smooth and creamy effects. It may have been because my resin was on the cold side or maybe it’s the brand of epoxy I got.. i was feeling like maybe this isn’t a craft for me but with your helpful video, it has given me a new motivation to not give up just yet… I’m not sure what my issue is, but I’m definitely going to have to try it again, ordering some Alumilite online and apply with your method! Thank you again 🙏🏼

How was you 2nd go round? I am on my first failed attempt at waves, lol 😅 Thus why I am here. Went and bought new stuff at Hobby Lobby got the castin craft and alcohol ink and Amazoned heat gun tips. I am hoping that will give me the full beautiful waves.

I know this is from a year ago but I’m new to your channel. If you (or anyone) could answer my question… when you refer to alumilite do you mean mixing it with a small amount of resin? Or just dropping it the liquid pigment onto resin by itself? I’m looking forward to doing so really deep oily color shifting on some pieces but I am just in my research phase of this now. I have done some cool stuff with deep pour clears with tattoo ink where it sinks way down looking like jelly fish tentacles but I want to do the minimal cells also. Thanks for the video. It really did help

One thing that I have learned in my years (Actually, only a few mins... hehe) of research is that, we need to be patient with lacing. Give. It. Time. It'll change, 5 mins, 10 mins, 20 mins, later, etc, it'll look different than when you first apply, and do, the lacing. =)

@NitasFluidWoodworks Жыл бұрын
Yes ma'am! Just scuff it up, with 220 or 180 you can get the sponge sanders, they won't cut into the resin as much, but honestly those grits are safe... after it's scuffed clean it thoroughly with 91% isopropyl alcohol.
