Thank you for the kind words there my friend. I try my hardest to have great production values. The camera is a Canon 250D with a 10-18mm lens. I'm definitely lucky to be able to film here right on my doorstep. Thank you for the sub and welcome to the Moorlander Community

Nice Review!! the first 2 or 3 modes and search are done with the Middle LED, High and Luminshield mode are done with all 9 LEDs. Not exactly sure about Medium.

With the EDC series lights, I really wish the lower modes would use the flood LEDs vs the center one. Or at least give you the option to switch it

Yes this light is a lot smaller than the EDC 35 but I'm used to carrying the 35 and I'm used to the power.

I just saw this on Nitecore's web site. My only worry is the run time before step down in the 'turbo' modes. I have the 35 which is one of my absolute favourites. Almost perfect. You mention the aluminium and it seems that they have downgraded from the 7075 aluminium used on the EDC35 (and the EDC33 AFAIK). It is probably 6061 as used on almost every torch made. I think you will find that the 'silver highlights' are stainless steel strike bezels.

I was checking the manual when I was editing it earlier to triple check the Aluminium type and it just says that 'high end' so I think you may be right. Which I guess makes sense. The differences between the EDC31 and the EDC33 are slight. It's a more budget friendly version however there's the option for a higher grade Alu, 500 more lumens and larger battery with the EDC33. That might be also why they made the main body the single construction and didn't add the silver highlights on the bezels and tail end. I hope you're well Ian and are having a great 2025 so far

Hey, the EDC33 and EDC35 are made from 7075 aluminum, which is an upgraded material that enhances durability. While the EDC31 uses 6061 aluminum, it’s still more than capable for everyday use and is lighter in weight. These three flashlights cover a range of price points, so the best option depends on your specific needs. Choosing according to what suits you best. :) Hope it helps

I was definitely happy Nitecore reached out on this one

Was it that hard for them to add strobe mode?
@MoorlanderEDCКүн бұрын
I can't think how they'd make it work with the dual stage switch. I think it would be a struggle to get the UI working. Pure guess though

Yeah, I'm almost sold but not having strobe is a deal breaker for me and the charging port, wish it was the same as 33 and 35

Probably because most people don't need or care about strobe. Idk

@@Abaddon5850 yeah could be, but I'm not one of the most people 😅

Very little difference between the edc31 and edc33. Biggest difference appears to be the price. Guess EDC31 is targetted for people who are holding back on the EDC33 because of price.

Nitecore downgraded the charging port of the 31..😁 ...

I have several Nitecore flashlights, including the EDC35, which I really like. I never considered the EDC35 to be "large"; but showing both the EDC31 and EDC33 side-by-side with the EDC35 is really helpful to see the size differences between all three lights. Thanks for your review! I happen to own the first gen EDC27; the latest iteration: EDC 29; and now, their "little brother"-EDC23. I love those lights, as they seat more flat in my pocket, compared to round lights like the EDC31. I will say that Nitecore really does like to innovate and improve upon their designs quickly-almost too quickly. Good for the user, but hard on the pocketbook!

@KentFong I've got an edc31 winging towards me as we speak, I know what you mean about the flat design but the lack of waterproofing makes me nervous. I think 23mm is thin enough to not be bulky, it's the same as the head of my old mini mag.
