This is my favourite version of my favourite piece of music by Nitin Sawhney. His music does not require a person to understand any language. All you have to do is close your eyes and let it take over. It is not only music, it is an amazing piece of art.

Wow! What wizardry is this?! Nitin Sawney is legendary to say the least! The way this man's brains function is unfathomable! I am in awe at how Nitin can bring the best of several different backgrounds, cultures and musical styles, to meticulously blend them all together to create this piece of art! You don't even need to know the words of the song for it to be able to elevate your soul to where Nitin wants you to be. Respect brother, respect!

I love this song so much even though i have no idea what is being said, I still went to look up the lyrics so i can try despiratly to try and say them. But this song makes my heart break and heal all over again.

Beautiful absolutely...so FYI to folks, he is performing a classical south Asian version of scat, the art of improvisational vocals in the Jazz tradition. He is reciting the musical notes (like Do, Re, Mi, Fa in western music) & it might be written & not improv but I have read a lot of comments assuming there is something to be translated in his words when it is the musical notes only 🙏🏽

Every time I hear Nitin on JazzFM I get in the zone and it's time to put on the CD. Every now and then and musicians like Joe Zawinul & Wayne Shorter come along and change the face of music. I believe Nitin Sawhney is one of those rare people and I really think he will have a larger effect on a greater audience in music today than the former great musicians. This is a great series of videos. Thanks Metropolis.
