*** How to think about your ROI from masters ?
Step 1 - Think about your current saving rate and saving capacity ( X 2 ). Think about how much you are going to invest through loan in masters in usa. Add these two. This is how much you need to make to breakeven. If you screw up , this is your cost of failure or cost of opportunity.
Step 2 - Then calculate how much you are going to save after masters annually. Divide the number you got in step 1 to find out when you will breakeven.

In this video you have taken realistic values for calculation. I too calculated on the similar basis. As you said 4 years will be break even point. Here i would like to add one more point nitin, we will be having MS degree and an experience of being in a US. They are additional advantages. Assuming we don't get a H1B visa, still we will not be in loss . Moreover if we take on campus jobs and internships into account that,things will be even more profitable. Thank you once again. 35 lacs in usa is not better than 10 lacs in india if u consider cost of living also. Most of things in usa is 4 times more costly in India.If you return to India with your US savings(normally doesn't happen) only then it will make sense.

Nitin sir Had a query. So I am in a good reputed Tier 1 college and will be graduating this June. Currently interning a firm and got a PPO offer over there ( TC is above 25 Lakhs and work is full stack ( Node and react) ). What I am thinking is: I complete 1 year exp as FTE in the firm and leave for MS in US( Prolly thinking about joining San Jose State Uni as fees is less ( Edu will be done within 30 lakhs upper bound) and is in the heart of the valley). Primary aim will be to get a job as SDE and work for 3-4 years there. Objectives being: 1) Exploring new country while being young 2) Maximising savings Now after the 3-4 years I work, not sure on whether will be back in india or move to a new country ( Canada or somewhere in EU). Not too desperate for a much long stay in US. How objective does this decision seem? Your thoughts on this?

Thanks for this information sir. I can definitely say living wisely for 2 years after your masters will help you save much much more than what we used to in india. But there's a fact sir, if we forget the monetary part and think emotionally, Are you willing to earn that much more amount leaving behind comfort and family in india?? , because then saving 10-12 odd lacs per year in india is also a big amount . Then you will have to pay for your living expenses , generally I recommend getting a internship to pay for them until you get full time

Hello , USC is really good school but I dont think its worth it, specially when you get the same package after completing masters from SJSU or SDSU which are way cheaper univers.

Should i choose CSU long beach/Sacramento or UT Dallas bcoz csu has low fees while texas has low living cost and csu has comparatively lower ranks. So I'm afraid that if I won't get job in 2 months after graduation if i choose texas as there are less job opportunities while in california, jobs are more but csu has lower rank. Pls guide me.
