Just missed to mention one very vital and hugely important part of India's freedom fight- Navy's revolt at maharashtra. For this revolt India could become independent even before then 1947 but Congress's ideology and process let India's freedom delay. Fun factual: India got dominion status at 1947, not independent. In 1952 India became independent fully.

Moral of the Story: India's Independence was a result of culmination of factors and events leading up to 1947. With all due respect to all the freedom fighters and their contributions, the geopolitics of the world back then with the end of 2nd World War and its after effects and situation in Britain with their internal change of power played a very important role in India gaining the complete independence it got in 1947. If not for these external factors, the fight would have been much longer as it was for some other countries.

That is absolutely true brother, but still we cannot discredit the fact that pressure was being built against the British for more than 75 years, had the freedom fighters not been as active and sacrificing (without knowing whether they would be successful in their lifetime) we would not have attained independence irrespective of the geopolitical situation at the time. A similar example is the French Revolution, did not end up bringing the concept of the Republic right away but started a process of constant political pressure, which enables society to jump on any opportunity to evolve the process of freedom.

Even after independence he lived in independent India for 19 years but still didn't badmouth the Britisher who have done 200 years of oppression. While butukeshwar dutt who was also sentenced to kaala pani jail completed his whole sentence and participated in the quit India movement. Even bose in his Berlin speech condemned Savarkar and jinnah for supporting the Brits. Savarkar recruited Indian soldier to fight against azaad hind fauz of bose to show his loyalty to brits. The books I have read are India's struggle for independence by Bipan Chandra, From Plassey to Partition, Inglorious Empire by Shashi Tharoor, {{why I am an athiest by Bhagat Singh}}, {{Inquilab by S.
