I agree that the mindset for a successful execution of kaeshi do, it is a sen-sen-no-sen, otherwise, the first defence move would be too late, and the subsequent do strike could not be executed because of poor timing and distance is getting too close.

二刀との立ち合いに慣れていないようですね。 小太刀に剣先を合わせれば上段に簡単に面を打たれてしまいますよ。 小太刀から３０センチ手前が一足一刀の間合いです。 小太刀は意識しなくていいのです。大太刀を強めに払えば反撃が出来ないのが二刀の弱点です。 次回の稽古で試せば二刀の弱点が見えてきますよ。
