For what its worth, I think you should keep doing this. Really enjoyed this part of your videos and it even helped me think about what kind of cards I could spec on.

I agree 100% on spymasters vault. It plays sooo well and has a huge impact in your commander games.
@paulszkiКүн бұрын
Spymasters vault kind of reads bad and just doesn't goldfish well because it's mostly dependant on what your opponents are doing, unless you're playing aristocrats.... but I was like "everything in mh3 is busted or at least really really good" so I basically got a playset of these so I wouldn't regret it later.

I once had a game where I hit a blasphemous edict then activated spymaster’s vault to connive 13, still riding that high

@@enzoongweekiat1711 Awesome! You made meI think I really just have to look at spymasters vault as a card that doesn't just provide card selection and GY "milling" but most importantly just making on of your dudes big. Just like ledger shredder often just becomes a huge. Makes me want to put it in, say, vampires to put it on creatures like a nighthawk for big lifegain swings in the air.

your notification about spymaster's vault making me go out and buy 5, it has never been bad in arena brawl, 2 player format so in commander 2 more players worth of deaths ... connive is slept on, surveil lands are up to around 15 ... as long as it's under $2 I'm in for 10 copies this goes in any deck with 6+ swamps for me...

I was a big fan of Warhammer 40k before getting into magic. I walked into my hobby shop one day and the brand new commander precons caught my eye. I got the Forces of the Imperium and starting learning the game. Next thing I knew, I snatched up the rest of the 40k commander precons and got my friends addicted. Today my collection is now just a bit short of 1500 cards and it always puts a smile on a smile on my face to see 40k cards talked about.

I'm sad to say that the reprints of Krenko, Mob Boss brought the price down a decent bit, but I'm also glad because that means more players have an attempt to get the card at a decent price and have fun with it!

This spec game being a monthly close on most worth to buy segments is great. I think should keep it going but if theres any issues, could put a cap on initial prices of cards that can be spec'd on. I'm feeling pretty good about the copies of Jacked Rabbit I picked up just as Foundations cards were fully revealed, I saw Hare Apparent and so many white weenie payoffs that I thought huh, this precon only card might do something in some other format. My guy has spikes like 10 bucks 😂 spent 30 on 5 copies I dont use and sold today for 8 80 bucks. All lgs credit but hey lets goooo

I love this episode! Great end to the magic year and just an awesome video, you guys are so awesome!
@meant09Күн бұрын
Came back day after watching this bc I sincerely believe you should keep up this segment in years to come. Specs on a card a month is not too much and does help players to think about how they can have a fun, but not too expensive or degenerate, way of supplementing their mtg hobby. That’s how I spec - usually no more than 4-5 copies and then buylist gains to cardkingdom where I’ll buy my next deck from when ready with my credit. I think if you keep it up it would be interesting to add a category for what cards you actually offload and for how much to show realized gains against money spent thus far. Helps folks to realize a few outsized wins can pay for all the specs but also shows the importance that at some point you actually have to sell. And that you need a sell plan before buying in the first place.

I really looked forward to this segment each month. I hope y'all keep doing it. I hopped on the Opalescence bandwagon got one for 8.00 and flipped it for two enemy fetch lands. Totally happy.

For energy I was like "surely, they're not goint to reprint Gonthi's Aetherheart" and I did a "mini-spec" at 75 cents or so really not a huge loss but I already had one from before and one came in the precon so now I'm sitting on 6 of these and I certainly didn't plan on having six energy decks. Though I do like the archetype. I'm pretty happy with my Jeskai Artifact-Energy deck and I'll likely end up making two more. Cab you tell I'm happy about aetherdrift having another energy precon? AND it's finally not a jeskai deck?

I honestly believe due to the growing popularity of mtg, new players coming in and, as seen here, the restrictive nature of UB product, for anybody decently familiar with mtg, a project such as this is likely to end up with a positive result. It's a bit like the stock market with passive investors, as long as ever more money is put into it, the expectation is that nearly everything always goes up.

My spec would/should have been herald of ilharg, as a gruul player I thought the card was insane from clue ravnica. It bottomed at around $1.20, and is now over $7. Should’ve gotten them when they were ripe for the taking

If youre actually a speculator then you want to think of an initial investment in terms of dollars spent, not the raw number of copies. The starting price of a card doesnt really affect the amount of risk.

A lot of the good 40k cards are on the way up. Freaking Biophagus just hit 15$ recently. Stopped paying attention to the price because I had one, then wanted to get one for my Mom’s Kyler deck, and had a serious WTF moment when I discovered it’d gone up 11$ in 7-8 months. Missed the boat on Jacked Rabbit, too. Annoying. Never expected that one to close in on 20$. Stupid 60-card price-driving.

@ Are you really attempting to condemn my strongly disliking the fact that competitive Modern players are routinely responsible for the price of a Single spiking by 25$+ in the span of 7-10 days? None of the other 60-card formats are affected by the Modern-induced spikes to any significant extent. None remotely to the extent that EDH is affected. You know, that format with literally an absolute minimum of 100 players per Modern player? Yes, the majority of MtG players having to pay vastly more for Singles due to the actions of a group of players 1/10th their size is the demented, entitled take. Sure. Let’s not even discuss the fact that competitive Modern players are 90% of the reason that U.S based resellers of Chinese counterfeits are now *universally* multimillion dollar business concerns churning out immense numbers of bootleg Rares/Mythics a year. It took you guys *one day* to add 37$ to the price of a Green Sun’s Zenith. Wanna bet a 100$ the Black Lotus Group just started two entire runs of nothing but Mox Opals and GSZ’s?

We have sold some on our Whatnot but we also use a lot of the cards we buy due to just believing in the card's quality. I'm not sure how we would measure that into selling as we put together and tear apart decks so unfortunately it's not a metric we can measure 😔
