yes i build Trazyn , i use swiftfoot boots. cheaper and trazyn will always have alot of Ritual / ramp cards, 1 mana is cheap

Well constructed, but I have trouble imagining wanting to play this more than once or twice. It seems so reliant on the combo that either you win the same way every time, or the table finds a way to exile the yard and it stops functioning entirely.

If you're already running Necrotic Ooze and Skirge Familiar, you might as well add Asmodeus The Archfiend. Ooze on the battlefield + Familiar and Asmo in the graveyard = discard 3 cards to draw 7.

I definitely run mishra's workshop and mana crypt in mine lol. Love seeing Trazyn! Swiftfoot boots is better than lightning greaves because shroud hurts the combo. Awesome deck!

Possibly a dumb rules question, but does patchwork gnome work with trazyn since it says 'Regenerate Patchwork Gnomes'. It's still a free discard outlet, but I was wondering if it would still regenerate Trazyn in that scenario.

Yes. A self reference always references self, even if the name of the card/spell/permanent containing the self reference doesn't match the name originally used to make the reference. So, if Trazyn gains text from Patchwork Gnomes, the text on Trazyn effectively says "Regenerate Trazyn."

I would consider putting a masticore in the deck, it gives you pay 2 mana: destroy 1 creature, since you have deathtouch, just to remove annoying creatures that could interfere with your combos like stax pieces etc.

Okay so I don't play a lot and wanted to ask a question about Trazyn. Can I activate his ability the turn he is summoned or do I have to wait a full turn to activate?

well it states when it enters the field meaning once its summoned which if you wanna give it abilities, dont play it first play other creatures and some big ones with good effects then play him, meaning wait till you get good stuff in the grave then play him

When I summon Trazyn do I have to wait a full turn to activate his ability to use the card in the graveyard? I was told I can't activate his ability till a full turn even if there are cards in my gravehard

I'm kinda new to this, but.. uhh, what happens if you mill a card you need? For example Necrotic Ooze. Wouldn't we want "draw card" mechanic rather than mill, that way we can decide what we want in our graveyard as we discard to a 7 card hand? Maybe I don't understand Mill enough to get this deck

I am using Imotekh as the Commander. I only upgraded 8 cards so far, just with cards I had on hand. (Nim Deathmantle, Noxious Gearhulk, Cabal Coffers, Deadly Rolick, Reanimate, Syr Konrad, Marionette Master, and Witch’s Cottage.)

This decks biggest fear is a RIP or Leyline. I would run Invoke despair (to go with feed the swarm you already had) since you have almost no hope of winning if you can't remove them.

Emergence zone and vedalken orrery. Comboing on upkeeps, end steps , in combat steps is another level of not fair in decks like this because you can catch ppl when they are tapped put or the stuff that would stop you is sorcery speed. This helps you from having to play conquerers flail. I like ad naseum here too.

@Nitpicking Nerds, why play Greaves over Boots? Yes, you *might* have to delay playing Trazyn by a turn so you've got the extra [1] to equip, but with shroud from Greaves you *might* turn off the combo pieces you've actually got access to when you're able to cast him. I don't actually play at this power level often, so maybe risking the latter is just preferable to risking the former, or maybe there's some other factor I'm not considering. I'd love to hear from you guys either way. Cool deck, though. My usual group's considering playing occasional competitive games, so hopefully I get a home for this and my gross Alaundo infinite untap deck.

@jamieritch3668 anything that targets, like the targeting untappers, like Voltaic Construct. If you've got that and one of the 3+ generating mana rocks in the graveyard like the Nerds discuss, congrats, you've got infinite mana and infinite untaps on your Trazyn, except, oops, you used Greaves instead of Boots, so Trazyn can't untap itself after all.

I would say that it totally works. The older version Basalt reads : Tap to add 3 colorless, Does not untap as normal during untap phase, but can be untapped at any time for 3 mana(...)

Or just play with some graveyard hate.. I mean people who want to play their own deck and not sacrifice slots for simple interaction are the worst to play against. This deck folds to literally rest in piece and there is literally one black card to deal with it. Feed the swarm. Other than that it would require the mono black player and to play like ratchet bomb which I can guarantee you they won’t be playing.

I tried to build a strong-but-not-quite-competitive Alaundo the Seer deck, and that's kind of what I got. "Excuse me while I twiddle my commander a dozen times to dig through my deck and play free spells. Hmm, didn't find a wincon before I stalled, your turn. Alaundo untaps 3 times in response to your upkeep, so I'll go ahead and do it all again before you draw for turn. What do you mean you scoop?" I think some things either have to be built as jank or as get-to-a-wincon-on-the-first-try cEDH-tier or else they're likely to turn into really unfun solitaire decks.
