I love my Nitro Phantom Carver bindings, super-responsive but also super comfortable. What I notice about Nitro in general is that the quality of their products are such that you can rock their gear for years after you buy it.

Thanks for your take and Agreed. One of the most underrated binding brands out there. We loved the old Phantom Carver but like the new Phantom + better. Give it a try if you can!

Just wanted to throw this out there for others considering Nitro bindings... myself and a lot of others have had issues with the ladders/ratchets. I went through 3 ladders (2x toe 1x ankle) in 6 days on brand new 24' nitro phantom + bindings. Ive never replaced a single ladder before these nitros so I know its not just how I tighten my straps (just touching my ankle - toe is pulled tight). Was super excited to run these but the failure and slip rate of the ladders is just sky high compared to what Ive used previously (falcors, atlas, strata, genesis)

My wife has some issues with the toe straps also. It can be fixed easily. But considering this, i am also waiting for nitro ti solve this before i invest in a carving binding...

Thanks. Dampness is chatter/vibration reduction. shock absorption is how it handles a landing or makes riding in uneven snow better.

Those nitro bindings are clearly underrated. My wife has some nitro poison bindings with that foam ankle strap. First, when we received the binding i have been very impressed by the overall quality. As it is quite stiff for her level i was afraid she would not like it. But on the contrary she love that big strap and says she does not feel the bindings. She rides it on a arbor swoon and nidecker odyssey. She has a soft bataleon feelbetter with soft burton scribes on it. I know some shop owners in meribel France who ride those phantom as all moutain freestyle /ride.

Hi, would you say these bindings are physical/tiring to ride ? would they match well with Yes PYL uninc board ? Would you say you can chill with them as well or are we on full time hard charging bindings already ? Mainly doing slopes/groomers/a bit of buttering :)

No they are not tiring/fatiguing and they are not like the typical high end binding in a line. Yes it would match well with the PYL. Yes you can chill.

Yeah any of their upper tier bindings from the Team to Phantom + but I would get the Phantom +. Its such a great binding.

How did you like the height of the high back on the phantom compared to the team pro? More support?

I really like how Nitro does highbacks on both bindings. None bite into my calves and even the stiffest/phantom + felt great. Yeah a little more response and it feels more symmetrical when you have the ankle strap flipped around for more support and response.

Hey bro, looks like for 2025 all nitro support setback without adjustability!!! (Like Rome, it's a new mini disc) Would you pair this with Jones Stratos?

Seems the only thing new is they added Burton EST holes. I dont think it will work with set back inserts. It still says 4x2 and not 4x4. Also doesnt look bigger in the vid and didn't see anything new in the catalog when I was looking for new Nitro stuff to test. Hope you are right though. That would be great.

@felipe2fp I would love to see all mini-discs go to hybrid or all snowboards start making set back inserts for mini discs. Those Phantom +'s are exceptional bindings.

​​@@JOEGUNN1990the team pro is legit, they are stiff enough to drive a stiff camber board but yet not dead for play.. I run the ordinary team and like them better then the team pro ancle strap. More movement. I had my teams on Mega wide stiff boards and they drive it without problems.

What’s the difference between phantom+ and phantom carver ?

Phantom + is an evolved Phantom carver. I like the Plus better than the Old Phantom Carver. Phantom review is almost ready to publish and it's just a little less higher tech with a less supportive ankle strap. In this review I do often compare the Phantom + to the Phantom.

For me the binding is perfect except the height of the place where the top straps are mounted to the binding, they are too damn low and my boots are bending. I rode them in Adidas Acerra, and they are too wide for the highback.

Thanks for your take. Did you ride the asym ankle straps flipped up or down? I found that when they are flipped up they give a lot more support.

@@thegoodridesnow both ways, unfortunately the back of Adidas Acerra is too wide and it does not fit into that foam on the highback. Nevertheless, if someone has boots matching the highback, it is a no brainer choice for me - on the sale this binding can be really cheap.
