Nice job, I should have never doubted you'd do it!

Stupidly I thought you were going to put modify the box and put the battery inside it, you should get hours of run time off of that, and less brown outs from the servos drawing to much current.

If the rain would give it a rest for 5 minutes I could test it out. Going to have to wait for a clear spell and see if it will run reliably. Thanks for watching and your continued support of the channel.

Great idea I have also done this but why go though all that headache, I just placed the battery where you placed the receiver and moved the on/off switch in to the slot on the car, if you look you can find a cut out on the car to place the switch and screw it down . Battery strapped down with Velcro plenty of clearance and saved more then half your time. Just a idea for anyone else who is looking to so this.

Nice !! I've purchased a hpi rs4 nitro it's really quick ! Still got my tamiya tt01 needs a bit of work doing to it now nice video !!
@RCProjects8 жыл бұрын
Yeah man, that engine is a bit of a beast. It's the same one that's in the Bullet. Was yours the version with the Mustang body? I've just rebuilt my TT01, only the body to go. I've got hours of footage to fit into one video. That will be coming soon. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I buy most of my RC stuff from Modelsport.co.uk. Great site with excellent service and a huge range of products. Couldn't recommend them more. www.modelsport.co.uk/?home=1

Thanks. The RC as a whole is pretty solid stock. The steering servo is pretty week and the diffs feel a little stiff but other than that, very impressed. No immediate upgrade plans but maybe a new body some new wheels when it's running right. Thanks for watching and for the feedback.

Must just be that it was a cold day and engine wasn't warm enough does it do it on warm days or just cold.
@RCProjects8 жыл бұрын
It did it even when the engine was up to temperature. I need to try it on a hot day which will hopefully be soon. Just need a free evening which are a rarity.

Have you seen the receiver box of the bullet st? That one looks way easier to open and close.
@RCProjects8 жыл бұрын
I have been told about it. Clearly HPI were listening to the feedback. I just wanted better runs times for the 2 servos. They should last ages with the new battery.
@copystring8 жыл бұрын
Definitely, the battery looks as big as the whole receiver box :P

the battery box on mine is different it's got a body pin holding the battery box lid down
@RCProjects8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you must have the updated version of the Bullet. The original has 6 SCREWS! Ridiculous! Can't wait to test out the new battery. I think I'll run out of fuel before running out of charge.
@michaelinzitari2 жыл бұрын
Really bad idea. You had a waterproof setup and now you have a battery strap exposed under the chassis!! OMG!!

Hey, does anyone know why my 3.0 bullet starts running away just after l start the engine?
@Ben-ty5rl8 жыл бұрын
if it keeps cutting out turn the carburettor screw tighter or looser until it stops cutting out it works for me.
@RCProjects8 жыл бұрын
It kept cutting out straight after I removed the glow starter. I assumed that was the problem so I'll see what happens when I come to run it again. It was a cold day which didn't help. Still learning in the nitro side of RC. Tuning an engine is the biggest learning curve in my opinion.

0:32 the problem is that the LSN (low speed needle) is too rich

If the weather is nice tomorrow I will hopefully find out why it's not running right. Like I said in the description, I tried every combination of tune the last time I ran it and nothing worked.

I only use the 6 screws if I'm using it in the wet.any other time I just use 2 screws,so much easier
@RCProjects8 жыл бұрын
If I hadn't upgraded the battery, that's what I would have done. The AA batteries didn't last that long anyway, whereas the new one should last hours and hours on one charge.

i got a hpi st bullet its stock and battery tray has a pin on
@RCProjects8 жыл бұрын
I think the version 2 had the new pin style battery tray. I have the version 1. They were obviously listening to the feedback.

ordering a new bullet 3.0 how long does that battery pack last? do you like it?
@TargetTime7 жыл бұрын
also you're not waterproof now with the open stuff right? I bet they made a lipo that fit inside that box
@RCProjects7 жыл бұрын
I actually haven't had the chance to test that out, but hopefully that will change this year. I think the receiver is waterproof, as are the servos and the battery will be at least splash proof. So a bit of water wouldn't hurt it. To fit a Lipo into the box, you may have to cut out the central partition.
@michaelinzitari Жыл бұрын
Since you want to charge the battery easily, and you don’t give a shit about your receiver or being waterproof, here it what you should have done. Put a small LiFe battery in the battery box. Modify the box so that the balance lead is exposed from the box on the top. Now you can charge your battery from the balance lead without removing it. You have a lithium battery which is strong, no sag, long runtime, don’t need to access. And it’s only 6.6 volt so the servos won’t scream

black glow plug + cut outs on throttle = mixture is too rich! tune your carb man!
@RCProjects8 жыл бұрын
I tried every adjustment in the previous run but nothing worked. It was a cold day so I have to assume it was the glow plug. I'll run it soon and report back to let you know happened.
