After seeing uhyeah's video about it being overrated, I must say that I like Five Nights at Candy's trilogy, however I do agree that there are better ones out there. But at the same time, Five Nights at Candy's was one of the first fangames out there so it's a bit unfair to compare it to newer games. So basically, it was a good game back in the days but it aged like milk, let's hope FNaC4 revives the series with a damn blast.

Wouldn't say "one of the first" when by july 2015 there was already a very big amount of other fan games out there that came first like the FNAS 1 and 2, FNAW up to 3, five nights at Chuck E Cheese's, FNATI and it's fan games, 4 TRTF games, 2 tubbyland games and some more obscure stuff. (Yeah you can argue about the questional quality, but this doesn't stop FNAC from not being THAT old and also the fact that while FNAC has better graphics many previous fan games and fan games from the same era top it on actual mechanics and gameplay)

From my understanding, early KZbin wasn’t super tough on copyright with its creators. But later after KZbin went crazy on people for using 1 second of a song or showing a picture without the original creators @s, smike got obliterated with copyright strikes and was threatened with thousands of dollars with lawsuits and the potential deletion of his channel. Due to his content being about fnaf and his videos relying on others work to show visuals in his videos.

The only game in the series that could be arguably called a fnaf clone is the first one, and even then it's much more unique than most other ones. Doors have timers, a third door, no door lights and you can only see the eyes of most of them,

There’s this strat in fnac 1 remastered that I remember cheesing the custom night with where you spam the door button so it uses less power than go to the other door and do that again which allows you to keep doors down entire night with the only threat being blank which you gotta check sometimes don’t know if this has been fixed but it was a fun exploit

If I'm being honest, I wouldn't really call FNaC a "FNAF clone". While it does share quite a fair share of elements from the main game, I think calling the series a "Fnaf clone" would be kinda degrading towards the work of pure art that Emil Macko has put into the series and the impact that it had on the community as a whole.

I think the definition of a FnaF clone is just "a game where you can't move, must survive several hours, and use cams to watch your murderers". Or in other words anything that's a point and click survival horror

I don't think much of the Candy's storyline, but the third game about the little girl having nightmares and having to go to therapy and things like that really got to me. Along with the Rat getting into her room and those HORRIFIC sounds and sights when it was right up in your face so reminded me of my own childhood. I didn't accidentally (OR purposefully, lol) witness any murders EVER in my life, but I also had to go to therapy due to lack of sleep and severe anxiety thanks to a diagnosis of Autism I got waaaaay later on in life. The sound of blood rushing in your ears and the racing heartbeat you got when rat was right up in your face during the night were EXACT RECREATIONS of what I experienced at night as a little girl. It was as if Emil took directly the sounds so deeply ingrained in my mind and gave them life. It was insane.

yeah i usually never play fangames unless it has great visuals like jr's or the fnacec remake. fnac and tjoc were always the ones i would play, i tried getting into popgoes but i felt that it just throws you in as opposed to introducing the mechanics to you night by night, while also ramping up in difficulty.
