Hi new sub :-) I haven't downloaded any digital paper or kits. I am an avid scrapbooker and want to do digital downloads. I am watching as many videos as I can before I buy one of your kits. I am so happy that I found your videos, Thanks!

Thanks very much Donna for your compliments and we are glad that you are finding our videos helpful! Using digital really isn't that hard once you've watched the videos and trust me, with all of the benefits (cheaper, use again and again, so much in one kit) once you go digital you will never go back! Please let me know if you have any other questions...we're happy to help you on your journey.

Loved the video and was really helpful. Got a dumb question though. You print and then just cut the pieces out?? Or what if you have a Silhouette, can it be used as a print and cut function?
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your compliments @Susan Armstrong! Not a dumb question at all! Once you have resized the elements to work for your current project, you can then add them to one or more sheets and print them and hand cut them, or you most definitely can import them into Silhouette or Cricut's software to print and cut! We do have videos on these as well in our How To Section here on our Channel, if you need!

Hey! Thank you so much for this video. What paper I should use for printing?

Thanks for letting us know that you found this helpful @Anmol Zahra We always recommend using a Matte Presentation Paper in a 44lb or 160GSm weight. We really like the Epson brand. You can see more about this in our Getting The Best Print From Your Home Printer video here on our channel kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2OndYtmfJaNrqM

Thank you so much for this video, it was easy to follow and you explain things fantastically. Two quick questions, would you print via Adobe or save the file to my computer for printing. What file type should it be saved as? Hope my questions make sense
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks @Amanda Evans for letting us know that you found the video helpful!! When you have resized your image we suggest saving it as the same file type that you have opened (papers are a .jpg and elements are a .png). You can print right from Adobe as you will have your image open and ready for print. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

i have downloaded the trial but I cannot even get the rulers to come on, cannot get the Draw tool, finding this so very frustrating
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections Жыл бұрын
We know there is a bit of a learning curve....so hang in there! You can access the rulers by pressing CMD+R (Mac) or CTRL+R (Windows) on your keyboard they will then come up on the side and top of your screen. To find the Draw tool, simply hover your cursor over each tool in the tool bar and it will display which tool that is....just keep trying each tool until you see the Draw tool. Good Luck!!!

On the video there must be about 20 tools but on the trial I don't think there are even 10 !!!

One of the best tutorials I have come across! I have had photoshop for a while, but do not use it because I have not learned it. I have learned more from your video then anything else! I did exactly what you said, paused it, & followed along. Everything seems to click now. Thank you so much, for taking the time to make this. I look forward to more videos like this!! Thank you!

love the tutorials! I'm new to this but am excited to try. My question is can you print with all the elements together (such as the complete card), and do you have to do something special. I make my own Planner divider and would want it to print all complete. thanks again. My only other problem. I love all your collections, I want them all ;0)
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your compliments @MariaGetz and we are happy to hear that you are excited to craft with our designs! Yes, you can create your card digitally and then print it as one (if I am understanding your question correctly). You can use a free program like GIMP, etc. or a paid program such as Photoshop to create your card by placing each of the papers and elements just as you would if you were crafting with paper, and then press print and it will print the card just as you see on your screen. I hope that this helps!

Thank you for your help, I have one question, If for instance I want to draw a rectangle and I want a precise measurement, how do I do that please, if I look at the tool bar at the bottom of the page it shows in %, how do I change that to inches or mm?
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sylvia,....the easiest way to have the measurements is to press CRTL and your "R" key at the same time and it will put rulers along your top and sides of your canvas. You will then be able to have an exact measurement. Hope this helps!

Oh my gosh! Thank you so very much for this tutorial. I just bought my Adobe Photoshop Elements a couple of months ago. And I came across Nitwit Collections by pure coincidence. I was looking through and old stack of craft magazines that I had misplaced. There was a whole several page spread in this 2009 Simply Cards & Papercraft issue featuring Nitwits. I was flabergasted! Don't know much about digital papercrafting, but decided recently to look into it. I was praying your company was still around! Yay! I'm so excited to have found you, and especially your website and KZbin channel. I will be ordering collections and watching videos and experimenting with my Adobe PS in the days to come. Love, love Nitwits! Thanks again for the great tutorials!

Thanks, very clear explanation ☺️, I have recently discovered Corenescreation and your beautiful papers and I believe I bought 7 collections 🙈last Friday. I have a question, once you have your project ready to print and I want to save it, what is the best extension to use, png?
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your purchases and we are happy to hear that you found this video helpful! When you save your resized images, you will want to save them as .png files in order to preserve the transparency behind it. Otherwise it will print as white and you will not be able to place images as close to each other as you'd like when you print. Hope that helps!

Hello I just downloaded the adobe photoshop elements. Your instruction are great to follow, however, when I make my black rectangle then go a retrieve my paper from my Nitwit babyboys first year ( which is so beautiful) you say to hit Ctrl +G at the same time, it makes a new group. It won't go in the black box that I made for the size I wanted the paper to be. I've tried several things but I can't get passed the design paper to take the place of the black rectangle I created. Please can you help me. Thanks Denise

Hi Denise! So glad you are giving this a go and we are glad to hear that you are finding our video helpful in learning the program!! To answer your question....once you have the black rectangle on your screen, retrieve your paper and place it on the same working sheet over top of our black rectangle. Then press CTRL+G and it will "clipping mask" it to the rectangle, or in other words use the black rectangle to cut your Baby Boy paper to just that size. I hope this makes sense now, but if not, please let me know and I will be happy to help! Good luck and happy creating!!

If I already have InDesign and Illustrator can I use either of these programs in place of Photoshop Elements?
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 8 жыл бұрын
+Debra Florence Hi Debra....yes you certainly can use either of these programs to resize with...whichever one you are more comfortable in. The resizing process will be the same (you will have a bounding box around the image and you just click on hold your left mouse button while moving your mouse to resize) so you should have no problems at all!

Hello! I was going to download Photoshop Elements 14 and notice that there are now two newer versions available. Should I download 14 or go with the 2018 version?
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee-Anne.....you're best to download the latest version as they keep adding new features. It will however be no problem to follow along with our video as these standard ways of using it are always the same. The newer versions just add in new features and tools. Good luck with it....you'll have a whole new world opened up to you!

Is it possible to just upload the file to my Cricut Explore and use the papers from there? Thanks!
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 8 жыл бұрын
Hi Salsita2....if you are looking to simply cut out the elements, then yes you can certainly do this! With the papers however, it will be difficult as Cricut only has a maximum printable area of 6" x 8.5" depending on which internet browser you use. As the Cricut Design Studio is an online program, this is one drawback of the Cricut (we have one too). They are supposedly working on an offline version which will eliminate this and give you a full printable area, but until then, you are best to use another graphics program to work in. I hope that I have answered your question, but please let me know if you have any others!

Ok so I retried what you told me to do. I have my decorative paper over my black box. When I click in the eye in the layers side I can see that black box then click the eye again I see the papers that I chose. When I press Ctrl+G in the layers box it still comes up with another box that says group 1. My paper doesn't go into the black box like yours. I do have the newest version (I think) of the photoshop. I worked on this all afternoon yesterday replaying your video and still had problems. I'm sorry, I'm really trying and I am not a computer geek. So I had my son help me. He couldn't figure it out as well. I know I just be doing something wrong and it's probably a simple fix. I do notice with your program on the far upper right hand where the layers box is, I have a group function. You don't. So I'm not sure if that is what is interfering.
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 8 жыл бұрын
Hi Denise....kudo's for you to keep trying!!! OK, you are correct in that your "hotkey" (CTRL+G) is creating a group of your layers and not clipping masking. I don't know if they changed this in PE14.....but here is a link to a full manual for Photoshop Elements that perhaps explains it a little better. helpx.adobe.com/pdf/photoshop-elements_reference.pdf When this opens, you will see there is 378 pages...lots to sift through. If you go to the top of the page where you see which page number you're on and change this to page 317, that is where is describes clipping masks. It does give different instructions (ALT key) or to go up to your top menu in Photoshop Elements and click on the word "Layer" (make sure you have your paper selected as your active layer in your layers panel on the right side of your Photoshop screen) and then from the menu that comes up choose Clipping Mask. I hope that this will work for you....but again, please don't hesitate to email if you have more trouble! You can also use this manual that I've shared the link for, you will be able to find the section where it allows you to change your keyboard shortcuts (hotkeys) so that you can make your CTRL+G create your clipping mask for you if you'd like.
