I feel like it’s only a matter of time that we learn how to do these things anyways but the fact that you guys embrace this and not try to stop us is why I keep coming back (Not as often as I would like but as often as I can) 🙂 So thank you for your help. Wow!!! You have such an incredible way of teaching. I am typically so boggled by anything relating to computer's and I literally have been able to follow right along with you on a few of you instructional video's. I actually recently bought an Epson WF wide format printer and bought a handful of Etsy digital kits to try out and was so lost so I got on KZbin and landed on the Nitwitcollections channel and all of your tutorial video's popped up and now not only have I learned how to use my printer to print quality looking digi kits I also discovered an amazing online store to purchase truly top notched digital kits that way surpass anything I could buy on Etsy!!! Yippeeee !! Thank you!!! I look forward to using your kits from here on out!!! Especially with all this "extra" time I have on my hands with this awful pandemic. Hope you and your family and friends stay healthy and safe and talk to you again soon!

LG, you and MaryFran are GREAT! I LOVE this tutorial. It's exactly what I've been needing for your beautiful background papers that are too large to upload into Cricut Design Space. I already downloaded GIMP the other day, but I was a little overwhelmed with the unfamiliar screen. Your tutorial explained how easily the process will be. My only question is that it looks like GIMP saves their files in an "xcf" format. I'm unfamiliar with this file extension. Can you save or perhaps export into a .jpg or .png format? I don't think .xcf is a recognized format in Cricut Design space. Thanks again LG. You have always been so responsive to my many questions. Nitwit digital collections are my absolute favorite.
@NitwitCollections6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your compliments on our video Donna!! We are glad that this tutorial helped you to now take the plunge into using GIMP and opening up several new options for you! Yes, you can save as a .jpg or .png format. To do this, simply go up to the top left of the GIMP screen and click on the File word (just like you were going to save). Instead of choosing "Save As" from the menu, choose "Export As" and it will give you all of the file types that you can then choose. This works just like a save, but you have to do it this way to not save as their default file type of .xcf I hope that this helps, and please let us know if you have any other questions.

Do you have a tutorial for working with and printing digital papers on an iPad?
@NitwitCollections3 жыл бұрын
Your printing should work very similarly to our video on getting the best print from your home printer. In using an iPad you will need an app in order to work with the images as in this video, and one that comes to mind is the free app in the Apple Store called Image Resize. Then when you go to print, everything will be as on our videos as it enters the printer's software where you make your paper selections, print quality and any adjustments necessary.

Can you still upload the elements in Cricut so it can print and cut? And thank you for your videos. Very helpful.
@NitwitCollections6 жыл бұрын
Hi Gina....yes you sure can! You can upload and resize our elements in Cricut Design Space, but currently some of our more elaborately designed background papers will not be accepted and you will get the error message about checking your internet connection. This is due to the file size. Thanks for your compliments on our video and we are happy to hear that you found it helpful!

Hello, thank you for the super helpful video. I have a question... I resized my paper and saved it successfully but when I print it doesn’t print to 8.5x11 it prints smaller leaving about a half inch, or so, white boarder. How do I print the full size of the page in this program?
@NitwitCollections4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your compliments on our video Brittany! We are glad that you have found it helpful! The half inch border left is due to your printer. If you have a "borderless" printer that prints right to the full edge of the paper, you do need to select this option in your printer settings each time you print as it is not usually the default setting. I hope that this helps.

Gimp has updated their program and I have a Windows operating system, Windows 10. Is there a chance you have a newer updated tutorial on how to do this?
@NitwitCollections2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your questions and comments on this! There are always constant updates in these programs, but the overall operation (layers) and tool definitions will always be the same. They may have items located differently in the tool panel but the look and operation will be the same. If you find things still a little unclear, GIMP does have many tutorials on their site that will help in using their program. Hope this helps!

Thanks LG for this video 😀 I’m learning a lot, even that the version that I have downloaded is different hence it took me a while to find the scale icon 🤦🏼♀️😬. I have a question, I manage to write in the new transparency layer however when I move it to place it on the tag, the text is behind the tag hence I cannot see it. I have tried to find an option to send it forward but I couldn’t find that option 😥. If I move the tag or the text I can see it but I couldn’t place it at the front, perhaps my brain is not working being 1:25 am here in Melbourne 😛. Thanking you in advance for your help, 🇦🇺🦘☺️
@NitwitCollections4 жыл бұрын
Hi Connie....thanks for your message and we are happy to hear that you are finding our video helpful! In order to move your writing so that it places it on the tag instead of behind it, simply look at your layer palette on the right side of your screen. Click on the layer with your writing in it, and hold down your left mouse button. Drag this layer by moving your mouse to place it higher, in sequence, than the layer with the tag and then let go of your left mouse button. Now when you move your words, their are above your tag! Hope this helps.

Thanks for the informative video.A couple of questions if I may. 1. Is it possible to resize without cropping? ie. to condense the 12x12 to an 8-1/2x11 without any distortion? 2. I know an svg file can be imported into GIMP but is it possible to do a print n cut file similar to cricut design space? eg. import a 12x12 paper, place an svg over it, and only print out the svg shape with the pattern paper on it? In design space, the slice feature is used. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks.
@NitwitCollections4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your questions June! Firstly, no it would not be possible to resize a 12 x 12 to an 8 1/2 x 11 without cropping or distortion.....you do have to crop some. And to answer your 2nd question... yes you can place a paper in your Cricut Design Space, then add your shape on top of it, cut off any extra paper so you would just have the paper behind the image and then print and cut this. That's the beauty of Cricut!

Hi Paula....thanks for your message! I am not sure if you are referring to this graphics program or if you are having trouble downloading your products from our store. If you could let me know, I'd be happy to help!
@NitwitCollections3 жыл бұрын
If you are referring to the GIMP program, just be sure that when you download, you are downloading the Mac version and not the Windows PC version. If you have chosen the Mac version and being that you left it overnight with it not downloading, that is just an internet connection error. I would simply try again and if it was their server error things should download quite quickly, but if not, I would check your internet connection at speedtest.net to insure that you are not experiencing temporary issues.
