This is really interesting, even on the more powerful of the 3 modes and avoiding dropping below 15%, this still can travel 85km with a decent speed. This would be more than enough for most cities, which is where scooters are designed to be. Not the cheapest scooter to buy, but would be really cheap to run. It is great to see more choices of ways to get around!

i've been riding motorcycles for over 40 years, and in my (lengthy - meaning old, lol) experience, lane splitting is actually safer for 2 wheelers when practiced responsibly: it gets you out of the cage parade so you don't have to deal with the oblivious cage pilots who are not paying attention! everytime i get on my bike someone tries to kill me - usually within a mile of my house. i don't even bother getting pissed off anymore. split the lane, get out in front AND STAY THERE!

Lane sharing saves lives. Using that space between cars allows the rider to be in a protected space instead of hanging out there waiting to be struck from the rear. Many more riders are injured or killed by that than from filtering or lane splitting/sharing. That's why it is legal in many states.

In Taiwan, scooters are supposed to go to the front to stay in a box dedicated to motorcycles and scooters to wait for green light. And lane splitting is the only way to make it possible. They are nice but be mindful of a few issues. Front forks bend and leak easy. Brake lever has a sensor that cuts throttle. When that has a malfunction it can lead to unsafe surging of power that can be really hazardous on slick roads or in corners. Last major one is sometimes when you take the bat out and it it back in the computer will bug. That really sucks when in a hurry and ya gotta pull the battery and use the wall charger to reset. The true last issue is common to a lot of rides, stock tires are hard and do have traction issues.

However, that does not mean that after 5 years, the batteries die, they simply lose their ability to charge to 100%. You might only be able to charge to 90% after 5 years, for example.
