💯 I don't even think 3kw hub motor is heavier than a125cc scooter engine +CVT. sure it further back on the swingarm so more travel but it's not gonna make that much of a difference anyway and scooters are not designed for crazy handling. they won't see a lot of canyon roads anyway considering the range and purpose of the vehicle, and if you want to have a nice week and ride on a sunny day, slowing down in corners compared to a a race bike is not a problem

Problem with scooters is insurance, plates and yearly property taxes in many states. All those add up to almost $100 every month. That’s a lot for something like this. Better to buy a bike and slap a electric motor and some batteries on it and pay nothing monthly but have many of the same features.
@gabriels11633 жыл бұрын
I agree, especially since you also need a motorcycle license which is another big hassle. My ebike is not as competent as this scooter, but its close enough and doesnt require any extra costs or hassles. Most people in the comments don’t understand the difference between a scooter and a motorcycle. A scooter is meant for urban roads but NOT THE HIGHWAY. Under the law for most states, it is illegal to drive on highways with a scooter license because by deffinition, a scooter going at highway speeds is a motorcycle which means to opperate it, you need a motorcycle license. That’s why motorcycle classes tend to be longer as well.

43 mph is actually not enough even in the city--unless of course you are either in the heart of the city or in a residential grid. If you, on the other hand, are using an arterial road to go from one part of the city to another, the speed limit might be 45 but everyone is always pushing 55 and sometimes beyond.
@MrWirelesscaller3 жыл бұрын
While this would be a competitor for the 50cc market it prices itself out of it. This thing is priced higher than a 150cc, while it's attractive not to buy gas ever again the price difference is such that I'd rather purchase and own a 150cc over it. I own a Sym HD200, I'm leary of using this anywhere near any highway near a city, a jaunt outside the city is okay but the limited range of the ev wouldn't even get me outside of Dallas where I live to enjoy crusing out in the country.

Not in most states. In my state North Carolina, any vehicle that can go over 30 MPH is considered a motorcycle, and would require a motorcycle license. So this bike might as well go 55 MPH, because it will still require a motorcycle license because it goes over 30 MPH. Many roads in cities and towns are 45 MPH, but people go 10 MPH faster routinely, so 55 MPH is really the minimum these bikes need to go in cities and towns. Sure this would still be a great city cruiser, but it would be too slow to keep up with traffic on 45 MPH streets, where cars are going 55 MPH. This is why the Sonders Metacycle is a game changer. It can go 80 MPH, and only cost a little over $2000 more than the CSC wiz or the City Slicker. Having that extra speed would be well worth the extra money, because it allows you to get out of dangerous situations.
