A conversation I sat down listening with Fiji and Alo Keys. Alo Keys had asked Fiji why he didn't want to do R&B, saying he would've been very rich wit his voice. Fiji''s answer made me realize why he is the greatest artist from Hawaii. He said, "If I wanted to be a millionaire, I would've did R&B. I know I would've been rich but I wanted to do music for our people. That's what drove me, not money". It was at this moment I knew that Alo Keys would never reach the likes of Fiji beca use what drove them to do music was different. From Alo Keys question, I concluded that he did music for money while Fiji did it for a more lasting reason.

Fiji is the mann!! what a legend in pacific island music and beyond...he has placed a staple into what island music is and in general...thank you Fiji(George Veikoso) for all that you have done..for us as islanders and showing your beautiful God given talent and passion with us all. Your music stands on its own and doesnt need all the noise..for it to be known. That is talent in itself and kudos for you for helping, also this generations of polynesians in music and arts..to have it keep the fire burning and passing the torch along. Malo Fiji for all your work and soul you put in your craft. What a gem.

@Irongaint3 жыл бұрын
Believe that all you want lol. Fijian language, culture, traditions are more similar to our close neighbours Tonga and Samoa. Fijians are mixed poly and Melanesian, you can see that in Fiji, some Fijians don’t look melanesian at all while some heave heavy Melanesian features.
