Noor Jahan ki gaayi huyi ye ghazal, pehli baar sunn rahi hoon, Nasir Sahab ke bahut hi piyaare lyrics, aur Pratibha ji aapne isei apni awaaz mein gaakar, bahut hi piyaara anjaam diya in alfaazon ko, dil ko chuu liya. Jitnee khoobsoorat ghazal, utna hi piyara gaaya, sunkar behad khushi hui! Musicians ne bhi bahut achha saath diya, kamaal ka bajaya sabhi ne. Warsi ji kitna shaandaar harmonium bajate hain, aisa lagta hai ki jaisay jadu hai ungliyon mein, mazaa aata hai dekhkar! Tabla vaadak bhi kamaal bajate hain. Ek bahut hi aalishaan performance, dekhkar aur sunkar dil khush ho gaya! Bahut bahut aashirvaad! Shukriya Bajm-e-khas isei share karne ke liye!

Nasir Kazmi, the poet who penned this ghazal, was born at Ambala, and was one of the millions of refugees who had to flee from their homes due to the faith-based pogroms in 1947. He is a major name in Urdu poetry of the 1960s-1970s. Pratibha has rendered this ghazal with verve, and she has apparently recited it from memory. It therefore seems to me that Pratibha first took good care to understand the vocabulary and the nuances of the poetic expression of the ghazal, like a true pro would.
