An important note about combat trick adventures: I believe that you can only cast the creature if the adventure resolves, so if your opponent kills the target in response to you casting the adventure, you lose both halves of the card.

With Keeper of Fables, if you have a non-human with double strike deal combat damage to a player, wouldn't you draw two cards that combat?

I assume you only draw once; but if you would draw twice from this, I assume you would also draw twice if you attack with 2 non-humans, one of which has first strike and the other doesn't (as double strike is effectively first strike + second strike at normal timing).

You would draw twice, because first strike and normal damage are two separate phases the player is taking damage. If one of more creatures deals combat damage at once, draw a card. Not per combat, rather per phase of combat.

As per official Wizards ruling on this: "Because creatures with first strike deal combat damage before creatures without first strike, Keeper of Fables’s ability can trigger twice during one combat if your creatures deal combat damage to one player at different times."

Beanstalk Giant's adventure is not actually a 3 mana Rampant Growth because the land etb untapped. You can't cast it on turn 2 but it basically costs 2 mana

So while watching this video I found myself seeing a couple of possible combo' s and wondered what you thought of them. Insaitible Appetite to give your biggest boy +5 Power... would that count for reducing the casting cost of the Great Henge by 5 (or does it care about printed toughness.) I initially was thinking about the white Combat trick that gives +7 but remembered that it was only playable on a blocking creature so would not be your turn. Golden Goose turn 1 making a food on two and then using Giant opportunity to drop your giant on turn 3... oh then on turn 4 casting your henge for two mana...

You got something wrong in your Garenbrig Carver card review: you mentioned that combat tricks put you at the risk of being two-for-one'd, but that the creature half meant it isn't really a two-for-one. The thing is, if the opponent removes your creature in response to the trick, the spell fails to resolve due to the lack of target and is put into the graveyard, *not exile*, meaning you never get to cast the creature half when you get two-for-one'd.

Also, you can draw two cards in a single combat from Keeper of Fables if one of those creatures has first strike or double strike. (won't come up much because most of the first strikers in this set are human knights, but could be relevant)

Weird corner case for return to nature, but you can exile your own adventure creatures from your yard to be able to recast their creature side.

It doesn't work like that. I think the frame was too small for them to fit it in, but you can cast the creature part only after exiling it by its Adventure part. The normal exiling doesn't work (sadly ;( )

@@sallomon2357 Ah you're right. I see in the expanded rules it says that if it's exiled in another way, it can't be cast as the creature. That is sad; I was thinking it would be fun to run exile wraths and a bunch of adventure cards in EDH.

Premium removal is removal without conditions (eg Murder), or that has conditions that are rarely relevant (eg Ob Nixilis' Cruelty)

Don't know why you call the Fertile Footsteps adventure a more expensive rampant growth when this ramps you into an UNTAPPED land, meaning you can have access to small creatures or cheap tricks early or later allowing you to use your mana more effectively later on in the same turn.
