My wife has PT in Oradell and I park next to tracks just north of Oradell Station, so I see all these beauties regularly.

A true local rail fan classic. I so do appreciate your equipment knowledge & the joy of expression in presenting your images to the viewer. It is you & your commentary that entices my viewing to your offerings. I have spent much of my life simply using the transport system you document, yet I do recognize & honor the history AND story behind railroading in our metro area. This is why I enjoy AND appreciate your videos. And I guess, even though you are a retired airline executive, that you can be trusted to "share the lore" and "mystique" of railroading!!! Again, thank you for sharing this story & a Happy New Year to you! This is Peter; out!

One of your best! . Loved all the Geeps with those glorious EMD 645 engines reving up. Especially love “Erie”4210.

Do you know the backstory of that locomotive when it was new it was one of three Penn Central locomotives that decided to take a run for it on Southeast Expressway in Boston back in 1969. What an effort it was to get them off of that highway.

I wish I could travel around the PA NJ and NY regions, because I really anything. Oh, I can't say that I never seen anything like you have videos of, but your videos make me feel as I never traveled before. Thank you Mr. Tim! I hope if you get on the Warminster / Ivy Land Branch, I sure hope I catch an eyeball with you.

I’m glad that NJT 4203 was on the Hoboken Division and I was able to see it in person 3 days ago, my all time favorite GP40PH-2B fleet! And its paint got fresh.

I didn't know...Tracks on both the upper and lower levels of Secaucus Junction are connected via the Morris Line between the interlockings of 'WEST END' and 'HUDSON'!

Nice video. I wish LIRR had as much variety in diesel locomotive power as NJT.

They all stop at Secaucus, then a couple do long express runs after that

How can you tell the difference between the trains that are Metro North and the NJT trains? Do the Metro North services always have a Metro North painted engine on the consist?
@3985uprr10 ай бұрын
Not always. Otherwise I use timetables and research
@blackking751210 ай бұрын
@3985uprr I got a railfanning video idea. You should go to Dutchess County, NY along the hudson line. You get some really good high speed diesel action from Metro North and Amtrak and beautiful scenery.
@jamesf.ryaniii791810 ай бұрын
NJT views the NJT locos and the MNR locos as a "pool" of locomotives. To them, a loco is a loco....and a passenger coach is a passenger coach....it does not matter which railroad purchased it. You will see a MNR loco going west to Dover and a NJT loco going north to Port Jervis or Suffern.
@jamesf.ryaniii791810 ай бұрын
Great video!!! Anyone have any idea why 4210 Erie says "MPSE-30" instead of GP40PH-2B? Is is a historical Erie loco class name?
@3985uprr10 ай бұрын
I believe it is
@jamesf.ryaniii791810 ай бұрын
@@3985uprr That's what I was thinking. It's in the format of an Erie loco class.....but the Erie was gone before the GP40s hit the rails. So, it appears that it's a made up class number like what the Erie would have called it if they owned GP40s.

1:25 was gonna mention Metra because they ONLY roster EMD prime movers (except for the Metra Electric)
