Granted predator classs allowed us to enter the sport because we could get it all together in 1 weekend and see if my son like it. But to tell you the truth we're both in champs now and feel like they need way more power. Currently he wants to go wing kart but no one runs them around us.

That’s the issue with too many sanctioning bodies. Too damn confusing. This just costs the racer more money down here in Florida.

Defiantly need unity in the rules but imo the billet rod should be an option to be aloud, there's really no advantage to it since its a bit heavier than a stock clone rod but will be a good piece of mind not have to worry about the stock rod letting go.

I'm not gonna spend over a grand on a motor and trust a 10 dollar stock rod... it just doesn't make sense

There’s also really no reason these motors need to be 1200 to 1500. $600 for a you build it kit on dyno cams. Yes I get machine work, dyno time, an labor costs money.

Everyone needs to relax on this issue. Let it all play out. Most Clone races are won or lost on tires. Get your tire program up to snuff and you have nothing to worry about.

I’m originally a UAS guy. I have a 270cc bama two stroke. 70ish HP give or take.

I'm not pro or con on this decision by NKA to allow porting of the cylinder head . Racers and racing always seem to get more expensive in the quest to find more speed . I did some searching on the internet this morning to clarify the new NKA porting rules and at this point the rules are vague at best . Dyno Don will port your cylinder head for $30 bucks , not bad but shipping is involved . Other Engine builders are offering NKA legal ported heads for around $285 and that is a ready to bolt on head . When BSP started years ago you bought a $99 engine , added a pipe and air filter and went racing at a more affordable price . Now we are back to where really fast flat heads were at , you probably need an engine builder and it is not cheap but it is faster . We raced against Dyno Don for several years and he knows engines very well so his affordable option seems very logical to me . Racing a non-ported engine against a ported engine will be a disadvantage . If I still raced , I would have several cylinder heads ported several different ways and I'd do some testing while racing . Akra and nka need same engine rules. All other rules can be specific to the sanctioning body

This is another example of why I run only opens. I have a twin engine kart and the engines were less than 250 each. I can build a clone open myself for way less than a stocker. 1200.00 plus for a lawn mower engine is the primary reason people get out of the sport. Don't get me started on all the nonsense going on in the predator classes. This is also an example of why tracks are closing and backyard tracks are growing. Money money money.

Billet rods give no performance advantage, and should be optional.
