The snakes have been making it difficult this week! Nevertheless, I have seen some pretty cool stuff! I even included a bonus day in this video (at the end) for those who enjoy seeing the more common stuff and longer videos!

Who tf disliked this vid?? This guy is one of the herpers that most respects the reptiles. Unlike those "snake lovers" that have loads of big endangered species in their house that sould be in the rainforest... quite sad.
@rafaelclarke8714
@rafaelclarke8714 4 жыл бұрын
@2.5in Bore Offset there are lots of people who keep threatened animals in their house. The illegal animal trade is huge. Not only reptiles. Did you know there are more tigers in american backyards than in the wild?! I agree with you, people who love animals keep animals at home. But some animals simply don't belong at someone's home. Oh and I'm pretty sure some humans have damaged more the world than others...
@rafaelclarke8714
@rafaelclarke8714 4 жыл бұрын
@2.5in Bore Offset I get your point but does that actually make sense? I'm alive, but I can contribute to recovery of wildlife, just because members of my species destroyed the world it doesn't mean I am also guilty for it. As an individual I can do other than destroy nature or at least reduce my impact, so the level" of guilty isn't the same for all
@rafaelclarke8714
@rafaelclarke8714 4 жыл бұрын
@2.5in Bore Offset yes but that is your criteria. Having a house isn't as bad as having a house AND contributing to the exotic pet market, legal or illegal. Consuming palm oil products or not. But this is a question of our point of view now.
@rafaelclarke8714
@rafaelclarke8714 4 жыл бұрын
@2.5in Bore Offset if I stopped eating meat and palm oil products, for example, I would not be consuming the planet as much as other people. If I don't have an exotic pet I'm not supporting that trade. So as an individual I can reduce my impact. And lots of other people have. Just saw your edit now. 👌👌ok then
@rafaelclarke8714
@rafaelclarke8714 4 жыл бұрын
@2.5in Bore Offset you can consider that exotic pet owners are keeping species from being extinguished and are concerned about habitat loss. But giving money to the exotic pet market does not help. And don't accidentaly disrespect nature conservationists that work alot to study and recover the worlds ecossystems. Some people are more guilty than others. And habitat loss is completely dispensible I wish it wouldn't increase but it does

A bad day for you would be the best day of herping I've ever experienced. I'd love to watch an in depth video that explains various strategies for different weather conditions, what kind of habitat is ideal for the species that you often target. I grew up in the southeastern USA and I found snakes very regularly in my youth, but these days my sightings are few and far between. Admittedly, I don't dedicate a whole lot of time to it, but that's partially because it seems futile.

I’m getting one today. At first my dad was really against getting one, but then I started showing him videos of them and how docile they are, and how easy they are to care for. I also offered to pay for its food and some of the other things it needs. My advice is to try and convince them as best as you can and to show them videos of snakes being nice or cute.

I haven't been able to get out herping lately. I am about to adopt 2 box turtles from a rescue though. It sucks they even end up at rescue centers. People should just leave them alone. Once they've been in captivity for several months they have trouble readjusting to life in the wild.
@joshuahull9982
@joshuahull9982 4 жыл бұрын
@Vada Minot I know, that's why people need to stop taking them outta the wild. Most of them that end up at adoption centers were taken outta the wild and can't go back once they have become accustomed to life in captivity.

@Vada Minot I adopted all of mine. They have the run of a 30 foot by 20 foot backyard. My fence is buried in the ground a few feet and set in concrete. My pitbulls protect my turtles like they think they are puppies or something.

I freaking love those salamanders. I like seeing other animals in your videos. I wouldn't be mad if you want to show everything you see, and that includes reptiles AND amphibians. Hell, I'd even settle for an arachnid every once in a while! While were at it, grab a shot of a squirrel, too! Don't forget mushrooms! 😎😂

You're fortunate to be living in the Southeast...back when I used to hunt for snakes here in New Jersey, you could easily go an entire day without finding anything. When you did it was usually a garter snake or banded water snake. Lizards are non-existent here.

Quick question how long does it take for the ground to dry under pieces of tin? I have a woods right behind my house and a church owns it but don’t use most of the land, so my neighbor could barely see my boards and was being very mean and was like cursing me out to move the boards and the boards have been there for a while so it’s a shame
