Look at the national highway 2 lane from Merangkong (mkg area) to kangching, Mon, Namsang, Burma etc hilly area till now no problem because proper Earthcutting as well a proper drainage canal system and lastly a there's no local contracter.. Where as from Dmp to Kma national highway 29,4lane Thousands of core money wasted , landowners problem, underground problem, and improper infrastructure and lastly local contractor thats the main problem

When asked about niuland road ..Rio replies ask T.R zeliang and from piphema towards angami area toh..Rio says he has written letter personally to PM office and demands funds for black topping of the road from piphema upwards waaa why so bais? Why can't you also queston/write letter/demand fund etc for niuland instead of saying 'ask tr zeliang'? Aren't you the head of the state? Aren't you responsible and have power over your ministers? The current government is acutely aware of Nagaland's sensitive geographical location, which is prone to earthquakes, landslides, and other natural hazards. Despite this awareness, they have consistently neglected to construct alternative arterial roads leading to Kohima and other districts. Aside from the national highways managed by the NHDCL, what other significant roads have been constructed and maintained by the state government? I challenge the reader to identify even a single well-maintained road managed by the state PWD department. There are none. It is disgraceful that the Rio government is shifting responsibility to the NHDCL instead of taking ownership. They merely issue travel advisories when there are no viable roads. It's high time for the public to wake up and issue an ultimatum to the Government of the day to repair all roads within a week or call for the resignation of the chief minister. Talking about government budget deficits and resource shortages without reviewing their own assets and finances. What a shame! It is time for this situation to end.

Solomon should check the Guwahati -Shillong highway. Before and after. How Meghalaya govt did their job in hilly areas and constructed the highway, with no complaints till now about any landslides or bad roads, ya sometimes They put lipstick when it is worn out but they check when they find any bad roads. Even the jungle road is blacktopping in Meghalaya. What I mean to say is to be vocal when you see that things aren't right and corruption is taking place. In Meghalaya, we are vocal about corruption. I know corruption cannot be stopped but at least they should do their job even after eating public money. Be vocal about your rights and say no to selling votes or proxy votes.

For rich people, road blockade doesn't effect them, it badly effect daily wage worker from Mon district konyak people. We came to kohima for hajira but due to road blockade, all work on halt, we have no option but to move to Dimapur and other place in search of work. No work means no plate of food for a day. Hope concerned authorities understand and do the needful (road clearance) as soon as possible.

Whatever happened to Golden Quadrilateral Highway project announced by then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee during his visit to Nagaland in 2003. Kohima was one of the destinations supposed to be connected to rest of the country with state of the art 4 lane highway road network. Sadly even after more than 20 years, the project is a still a distant dream.
